“A missa do galo” Open the presents
“Consoada” is a special dinner that portuguese people do on Christmas Eve (24th December.)
The more tradition food in this dinner is codfish with boiled potatoes and cabbage .
Some typical Christmas desserts: Rabanadas Aletria Filhóses
On 24th December at midnight some people attend a mass, this is called “a missa do galo”
The presents are opened on Christmas Eve or in the morning of Christmas day.
It’s very using the crib, this represent the birth of Jesus.
On Christmas day the people eat stuffed turkey and the traditional desserts.
On 6th January, Portuguese people celebrated the visit of three kings at Jesus.
The people sing Christmas carols in the streets. This is called “Janeiras”
