All of your holiday shopping can be completed at Christmas in October the fi rst weekend of October at the festively decorated fairgrounds in Findlay, Ohio. Over 300 artists and crafters will proudly offer their very best solutions for everyone on your “what to get” list. Christmas in October is the perfect place to meet with our carefully selected crafters and artists eager to share their inspiration to ensure that your gifts will be as unique as their recipients. Adding to the festive atmosphere will be Cloud Production’s famous holiday blow ups. “I was Snow White…but I drifted. Well let’s say my life took a turn and I was forced to look in different places for all my supplies to craft with. You see I didn’t have the means to call 1800- send it to me…so I started shopping all the thrift stores, garage sales and flea markets to find my supplies to work with. Well you see I have…well let’s say God blessed me with an imagination. All of those things that are different or say maybe chipped or broken…have found their way into my truck! I can’t help it…it is like they are saying SAVE ME…take me home. People have always called me a gypsy and I love JUNK but the junk I love is sparkly and shinny…rhinestones make me a happy girl. The things you will find at The Junk Market Gypsy are my one of a kind that is for sure.” ~Dawn You can find Dawn Ruble of Junk Market Gypsy in Building B, Booth 28.

What’s in a name?Letters! Aaron Haney of Wicked Wood Too, carves out any name out there in wood for that perfect addition to a bare shelf. Now that unique name can fi nally have something personalized! He will be at Mistletoe Magic (Dayton), the upcoming Christmas in October (Findlay) in Building Fa, Booth 32, and Holiday Craft and Gift Marketplace (Maumee) in Booth 63!
This St. Marys, Ohio artist Debby Gregory as you can see is very talented! Debby says she paints realistically and the subject matter usually dictates the medium she uses. She believes any artist will tell you each creation is an experiment and a challenge so besides loving my craft, the challenge is great motivation. Being a self-proclaimed “preserver,” her goal is simply to document via paint brush, many things we see every day that we take for granted. It could be a morning glory catching the fi rst light of day or an old decaying barn. The Mistletoe Magic will be the spot you can see Debby and all her paintings this December.
An artist and a geologist Heidi McGrew of Beavercreek, Ohio enjoys combining the materials of the natural world into artist creations. Heidi began experimenting with sand as a medium after she brought back a variety of sands of different textures and colors from a family trip to New Zealand. Heidi says at one point, her husband realized how much sand she had stowed away and said to her, “I hope you are really going to do something with all this sand!” Little did he know it would become exquisite works of art. She creates sand paintings of landscapes, animals and portraits using the technique she “invented” for herself, but it’s actually the same method used by sand painters all around the world. Heidi will have a variety of sand paintings and she also designs stone jewelry all her creations will all be on display in Dayton at the Mistletoe Magic Holiday Marketplace.

"Granny'sBaking!"
…is the title of this beautiful work of art by Patricia Cowart. Her grandmother never used a cookbook to make her dishes and she didn't even use offi cial measuring cups or spoons. Everything was created from memory or instinct. The never used Wehman cookbook in the painting was found in the attic of a general store packed in its original shipping box. How did your granny bake? Stop by Building A, Booth 27 to see Patricia Cowart Studios at the Holiday Handcrafters’ Showcase & Marketplace in Muncie. Her work is phenomenal! You can also fi nd her at Christmas in October in Building D in Findlay, Holiday Craft and Gift Marketplace in Maumee and at Mistletoe Magic in Dayton this December.
Please join Cheri Shafer from Uncommon Threads in Muncie at the Holiday Handcrafters’ Showcase and Marketplace in Building A, Booth 36, the picture here does not due her justice. She does “magic” making one of a kind handcrafted quilts in all sizes, custom embroidery, personalized aprons, holiday decorations, baby bibs and blankets, just to name a few.

Is it crazy to start a business because your bridesmaids liked the necklaces you made them for your wedding? That’s exactly what Sarah Voltz did! Her maid of
honor thought that other brides might appreciate the perfect match to the perfect dress aspect of custom necklaces for their wedding party and they did! Sarah’s business has moved from bridal focused designs highlighting pearls and crystals to career/professional with gemstone focused business accessories. Motherhood was next with silver custom mommy charms. Each facet of Sarah Voltz Designs has helped her fi nd her voice to design pieces that are simple, classic and versatile. Sarah’s pieces are made with PMC which is a product that takes reclaimed silver from photo negatives and X-rays and mixes it with an organic binder so that it has all of the properties of a clay. She can roll it out, stamp into it, shape it and when she fi res it in the kiln all of the binders bake out leaving a beautiful 99.9% pure silver charm. Booth 21 is where you can fi nd Sarah Voltz Jewelry Designs in Maumee.

ofmyDad,DanielBuserDespite the heat and humidity Summer brings, the Cloud Productions staff is busy preparing for Christmas in October. It’s exciting and fun to think back on 29 years as we anticipate this Fall event which has grown to be the largest arts and crafts show in Northwest Ohio. Our shoppers are making plans with family and friends to kick off their holiday shopping. Our exhibitors are spending their summer days and nights with their unique muses to ensure Booths will be overfl owing with have-to-haves, look at thats and stocking stuffers!
Fred Mengert, the patriarch of my husband’s family, passed away June 7. Fred will be remembered for his sense of humor, his intelligence and the stories of his life. 97 years’ held 58 years of marriage to Dorotha who passed in 2005, father to Dean and Ruth Anne, grandfather to 4, step grandfather to 2, great grandfather to 11, and international grandfather to 1. His accomplishments are too numerous to count or list but because of them, he had stories to tell, wisdom to share and, always, a sense of humor. Fred’s loss will be felt by his family, friends and students. He touched many lives in many ways.
Dean’s been busy with all of his interests. Retirement means he can spend time on activities he loves. He and his son, Dustin, have expanded to raising steers in addition to his quail. The ‘Little Trains on 99’ and the Hancock County Fairgrounds provide many opportunities to volunteer. As always, he makes time to help me out with the details for our shows whether it is errands, heavy work or advice. We are very thankful that his health continues to be excellent. Thanks, Honey!
Mackenzie and Maddison are just the best ‘big sisters’ to Max. Turning 1 already! Mom (Dani) and Dad (Cliff) are active, hands-on parents sharing in all the work of parenting. Dani works from home for Cloud Productions and she and I talk often during the day. The best part is when she and my two “offi ce clerks” make the drive home to help. What could be better than working with family! Cliff ’s assistance with the shows is appreciated very much! The girls will be in the same school and Kenzie is excited to have Maddi join her.
Heather and Bill are new home owners and are enjoying making their house a home. Heather continues her work at the Findlay Municipal Court and for Cloud Productions in the evenings and weekends. Bill, son Wade and the rest of the Roger’s Lake crew helping at the Findlay shows is much appreciated. Evan is in 8th grade this year and very active. We enjoy attending his sporting events. Jaci, Bill’s daughter, graduated this year and has been a great assistant in the Cloud Productions Offi ce.
Dustin and Amber have the beginnings of a family farm with Amber’s gardening and Dustin’s livestock. They will be celebrating their one year anniversay in October. Their 3 sons Logan, Levi and Austin keep them very busy! With Dustin and Dean in business together, 5 year old Austin gets to see more of Paw-Paw. Austin will be starting Kindergarten this Fall. He loves his Paw-Paw’s quail and life on the farm.
Ken continues his career at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. Sports continue to be an important aspect of his life; he offi ciates NCAA Division 1 football games. Watching a game from an offi cial’s view is exciting and it’s always fun to catch him on the television.
My mother, Elaine Buser, remains a mainstay in my life. I am happy that I inherited her artistic ability. We talk often and were able to spend our Summer beach vacation with her, my sisters, my family and many of the cousins in North Carolina. What fun we all had! Memories written in sand!
My father is missed but I can count on his business and ethical legacy to lead me. My success was built on the foundation he gave me.
To all my family and my extended family—friends, exhibitors, customers, and employees, I am thankful for each of you! Life means more with you standing with me.
Craftily yours,

Two lovely shoppers were not leaving
empty handed! Actually they needed
the help of our golf cart service to get them back to their
