PRINTING

Diorama Assembly Instructions

• Becarefulwhenusingscissorsorapapercuttingknife.

• Glue,scissors,andothertoolsmaybedangerous,sobesuretokeepthemoutofthereachofyoungchildren.

Caution

• Usually,apieceforacardstockmodeliscutoutintwostages.

• First,thepieceisseparatedfromtherestofthepiecesbycuttingroughlyarounditwithscissors.Don’tcutalongthelinesatthisstep.

• Oncethepieceisseparated,youcanworkonitwithoutdamagingotherpieces.It’sbesttodothescoringbeforeproceedingtothecutting.

Cutting

• Scorethefoldlinestomakeacrispstraightfold.It’sespeciallyimportantforthesmallestpiecestobescoredbeforefolding.

• Toscore,placeametalruleralongthefoldline,andthenpresswithadullpointalongthefoldlinetocompressthepaper.

Scoring

Assembling the background

• Cutthebackgroundpiece.Afterscoringalongthedottedlines,foldandgluethe2tabsunderthefloor.

Assembling the figures

• Firstcutoutthefigure,scorealongthedottedlines,thenfoldasshownintheillustrationaboveandgluethe2partstogether.

• IMPORTANT:donotputglueonthebackofthe2tabs.• Waitafewminutesforthegluetodry,andthencutalong

eachfigureinthelightgreyarea.Youdon’tneedtocutrightalongtheblackline,youcanleaveafewmillimeterofgreyaroundthefigure.

• Gluethefiguretabstothesmallrectangletohelpreinforcethefigure,whendry,trimalittlearoundthebaseofthefigure.
