their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor, you have

broken as on the day of Midian. For all the boots

of the tramping warriors and all the garments rolled

has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests

Counsellors, Mighty God, Everlasting Father,

ordonnant de recenser toute la terre – ce premier

recensement eut lieu lorsque Quirinius était gouverneur

de Syrie. Et tous allaient se faire recenser, chacun dans

sa ville d’origine. Joseph, lui aussi, monta de Galilée, depuis

la ville de Nazareth, vers la Judée, jusqu’à la ville de David

appelée Bethléem. Il était en effet de la maison et

de la lignée de David. Il venait se faire recenser

avec Marie, qui lui avait été accordée en mariage

et qui était enceinte. Or, pendant qu’ils étaient là, le temps

où elle devait enfanter fut accompli. Et elle mit au monde

son fils premier-né ; elle l’emmaillota et le coucha dans

une mangeoire, car il n’y avait pas de place pour eux dans

la salle commune. Dans la même région, il y avait des

bergers qui vivaient dehors et passaient la nuit dans

les champs pour garder leurs troupeaux. L’ange du

Seigneur se présenta devant eux, et la gloire du Seigneur

les enveloppa de sa lumière. Ils furent saisis d’une grande

crainte. Alors l’ange leur dit: « Ne craignez pas, car voici

We give thanks to you, Lord our God, for the goodness

On the night he was handed over to suffering and death,

a death he freely accepted, our Lord Jesus Christ took

in his sacrifice, that we, made acceptable in him, may be

reconcile all things in Christ, and make them new,

and bring us to that city of light where you dwell with all

your sons and daughters; through Jesus Christ our Lord,

the firstborn of all creation, the head of the Church,

and the author of our salvation; by whom, and with

whom, and in whom, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

La nuit où il fut livré à la souffrance et à la mort,

une mort qu’il avait librement acceptée, notre Seigneur

et nous t’offrons ce sacrifice de louange et d’action

de grâce, Seigneur de l’univers, te présentant ce pain

et ce vin, fruits de ta création. Nous te supplions,

Dieu d’éternelle charité, d’envoyer ton Esprit Saint

sur ces offrandes, afin qu’elles deviennent le sacrement

du corps du Christ et du sang de la nouvelle Alliance.

At CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL we hope you will find,

Real community We are an open and friendly community, with a mix of people in all different stages of life, with different interests and

concerns, coming together to share part of our journeys.

We are committed to supporting children and their grown-ups as they journey together. We

welcome families of all descriptions at our services, in our Sunday School, and at our many

special events. We’d love to meet yours!

Support for social justice and the environment We try to educate ourselves about these issues, both locally and globally, and to make responsible decisions both

as a church and in our own lives.

The social Justice Action group supports Fairtrade and justice, Amnesty International, and seeks to

improve our understanding of the needs of the hungry and homeless.

We feed over 150 people in need on the last Sunday of each month (except December and

August) – volunteers or sponsors are always welcome.

A place to make sense of our own lives We try to support each other through changes and challenges, and to make sense of what is happening to us.

Prayer The Cathedral is open for prayer every day with services at 9:15am, 12:15pm and 5:15pm and sung plainsong at

5:15pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. (recommences January 3rd)

Music plays a large part of our heritage and tradition. Every Sunday traditional Choral Evensong is

sung and broadcast live on Radio Ville-Marie 91.3 FM or the internet:

responsables en tant qu’église et dans nos propres vies.

Groupe d’action pour la justice sociale Le groupe Action pour la justice sociale supporte le commerce équitable et la justice, ainsi

qu’Amnistie internationale. Il cherche aussi à mieux comprendre les besoins des personnes qui

sont dans le besoin et celles qui sont sans abri.

Nous offrons un repas chaud à environ 150 personnes dans le besoin le dernier dimanche de

chaque mois (excepté décembre et août). Bénévoles et commanditaires sont bienvenus.

Un endroit pour donner du sens à nos vies Nous essayons d’apporter du support à chacun pour passer à travers le changement et les défis qui se présentent, et

de donner du sens à ce qui nous arrive.

Prière La cathédrale est ouverte chaque jour à ceux qui veulent prier, et à tous ceux qui cherchent la paix, un espace

tranquille pour s’asseoir et se reposer, ou de l’aide.

La musique joue un grand rôle dans l’héritage et la tradition anglicane. Tous les dimanches les

chants traditionnels des vêpres sont chantés et diffusés à Radio Ville-Marie 91.3 FM et sur le

web.
