CHRISTMAS MEMORIAL TREE: Once again the memorial tree has been set up in thefront foyer. Christmas is a time to spend with loved ones, family and friends, and toremember those who are no longer with us in person but are with us in spirit. If you wishto donate, you may do so by placing your money and family names in the markedenvelopes at the back of the church and placed in the Sunday collection basket. Fr. Basilwill again have a Liturgy for all those departed family and friends on Wednesday, January31 2018. All funds received will be deposited into the St. Athanasius Building Fund.

ST A’S CHOIR PRACTISES: will be held 2:00 p.m. on Sundays as follows: December 3,10 & 17 (unless otherwise announced). This is in preparation for Christmas andTheophany as well as for possible Changes to the Presanctified Liturgy. ST. ATHANASIUS UCBC: will be selling sausage in the hall after Sunday’s liturgy todayand on December 10th and 17th, 2017.

SYMPATHY AND CONDOLENCES: are extended to Anne Nokonechny and family on thedeath of Anne’s sister-in-law Faye Nakonechny who passed away on Friday, November24th 2017. Funeral Service was held on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 at Our Lady ofPeace Roman Catholic Church, Regina Sk.Vichnaya Pamyat! Eternal Memory!

THE ANNUAL THEOPHANY SUPPER: will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018, beginningwith the blessing of water at 6:00 p.m. and supper at 6:30 p.m. Ticket costs are $15/adult,$9/student(ages 6-12), and free for children under 6 years of age. Tickets will go on saleon Sunday, December 10th, and must be purchased or reserved by January 2, 2018. Toreserve tickets, please call Rosanne Miller at 306-543-5773.

PRIEST’s CHRISTMAS GIFTS: Tax receipts cannot be issued for the monetary giftsgiven to a priest. This is a “gift of love” with no service rendered. If you are using a cheque,the cheque must be made payable to FR. Basil Malowany

YEAR END IS FAST APPROACHING: If you wish to give a donation to the parish, alldonations must be received in the parish office by Sunday December 31st, in order to beincluded on the 2017 tax receipt. Any donations received after that date will be includedon the 2018 receipt.

THE UCBC OF ST. ATHANASIUS PARISH: has taken on a major fund raising event. Theyare selling 50/50 tickets. The sale proceeds major beneficiary will be St. Athanasius Parish.Please, if you can set some time aside to help sell the tickets, it would be very muchappreciated. UCBC have made arrangements to sell at various events held within theparish, have received permission to sell tickets at the Northgate Mall, and would likeindividuals to sell them as well. ST. JOHN PAUL II SYRO-MALABAR CATHOLIC PARISH ~ From India: will be using ourchurch for church services over the Christmas season. The parish has signed amemorandum of understanding for December 24th from 5:00-8:00pm, December 25th at5:00pm, and December 31st at 5:00pm. Parish Council is currently working on a leaseagreement for long time use starting in January 2018. Well that means our Youth Christmas Wind-up is just around the corner. It will takeplace Friday, December 15 at 6:30pm at the Lazurko Residence. The evening will consist of funfilled Christmas activities such as Sledding (hopefully there will be snow), drinking hot chocolate,Christmas cookies and so much more. BTW: Christmas will only be 9 days away from the Wind-up. So, start celebrating early with all yourfriends! The youth are welcome to bring a friend along. If you are able to attend, please let Lesia([email protected]) know by Tuesday, December 12 at the latest. We would like toensure there is enough goodies for everyone.
