Christian Visitor Weekly Newsletter Volume 71 ~ Issue 43 October 23, 2018
Office Hours: Monday ~ Thursday [8:00 a.m. ~ 4:30 p.m.]
Office Phone: 785-448-3452 Website: www.fccgarnett.org A great source of Hope is when you know you are not alone! There are some times we
are just flat lonely. Perhaps you can relate to the servant of Elisha! An army threatened
the lives of the prophet and his servant.
2 Kings 6:17 (NKJV)
“And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then
the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the
mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”
God opened the eyes of the servant and they no longer feared! If God opened the eyes
of his people here on earth you know what you would see? Angels protecting children as
they go off to school. If God were to open the eyes for you travelers, you know what you
would see? You would see angels outside the aircraft! If God opened your eyes you know
what you would see in the hospitals? You would see angels walking up and down the
halls protecting you scaring away the demons and inviting worship!
If we could see the angels in this room, we would be stunned at the faithful service and
their heartfelt worship.
Those who know God best worship Him the most! These angels would tell us “fear not”
as they did to dozens of people before us and He is telling you to fear not!
We live in a time when there are lots of reasons to fear! Politics, family, debt, jobs,
personal health, the draft, homes, nuclear war, cars and many other things that can cause
us to fear greatly! People do not know where to go with their fears! Secularism has
siphoned the bravery out of the heart of our culture! Humans have mocked the creator
and because of our mockery we have left our generation with no creator to turn to!
Atheism may work on TV talk shows but I am here to tell you it sure doesn’t work in
emergency rooms and foxholes. God does! The God that sent Angels into Bethlehem
sends angels into the world today! What they said then they say now, “FEAR NOT”! So
are you afraid…Fear Not, are you sick… Fear Not, are you dying… Fear Not, are you
alone… you are not. Gods Angels have come to help you and teach you! They set us an
example on how to worship and serve the Father!
I am here to tell you today that the only person, thing, item or other, worth worshiping was
found in a manger on a humble cold morning and His name is Jesus! Let us worship Him
with our lives and FEAR NOT because God’s many and mighty angels are watching out for
those who have a relationship with Jesus!
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may
overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)

approaching! This is one of our largest church outreach events
of the year and we are still in need of trunks or truck beds to be
decorated. If you are interested please contact the church office
(785-448-3452) or sign up on the Sunday Bulletin Flap. Please
keep in mind nothing scary for the little ones so we ask that your

Thank you, FCC. I deeply appreciate being recognized in Sunday’s
worship service as FCC Elder Emeritus. It has been an honor and
pleasure serving the Lord and FCC these many years (as Elder more
than 27 years, and as FCC Treasurer more than 35 continuous
years). It is a true joy to be in FCC and, Lord willing, for many more
years to come. Serving Him, Burke Rogers.
A Special Thanks to the young ladies
who helped with the Nursing Home
Worship Services Sunday. Hope and
Makenna Goetz, Casey & Brittney Hurt,
Baylee & Obree Barnes were our
special helpers! We had a great time
with the residents. The girls led the
worship really well. They sang “This
little Light of Mine”, “He’s Got the Whole
World in His Hands” & one other silly one. We had many laughs and a great time of devotion
and fellowship. Again, many thanks for such a great time.
Calling all Seniors!
