My dear friends in Christ,

Jesus told His disciples that His words were “spirit and life” (John6:63) — His words came from the heavenly Father who is the Author of life and the One who breathes His Spirit into those who believe in Him. Through the gift of faith, Peter was able to receive spiritual revelation of who Jesus truly is—the Holy One of God, the eternal Son sent from the Father in heaven to redeem a fallen human race and reconcile them with God. How does God help us grow in faith and trust in His word, even the hard sayings which are difficult to understand? Faith is a gift which God freely gives to those who listen to His word and who put their trust in Him. Faith is a personal response to God’s revelation of himself. Faith is neither blind nor ignorant. It is based on the truth and reliability of God’s word. True faith seeks understanding. Saint Augustine of Hippo (354-430 AD) said, “I believe in order to understand, and I understand the better to believe.” the Lord Jesus offers all of His followers His life-giving word and Spirit to help us grow in our knowledge and understanding of God.

The RCIA program will begin soon. If you know someone who would like to grow deeper in faith and become a Catholic or someone who needs to fulfill their Sacraments, consider asking them to be a part of our program here at Corpus Christi.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them;

for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Religious Education classes are held on Sundays, 10:00 to 11:15 AM, beginning September 30, 2018. Please enroll your children who are in grades 1 thru 8. Please remember, parents must re-register their returning students each year as they move through the program.

Religious Education Summer Office Hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Our Religious Education Registration Weekend will take place after all Masses on Saturday and Sunday, September 8th/9th. COHORT #1 TAIZE PRAYER SERVICE Tuesday, September 11, 2018

The Music Ministries of the Burlington Pike Catholic Community (Cohort #1) invites you to an evening of Taize Prayer in honor of our fallen heroes of 9/11, victims families and first responders. The service will begin at 7:00 PM in Church. All are welcome. Fellowship and light refreshments will follow in Bogdan Hall.

If you are discerning God’s call to serve the Church in the Diocese of Trenton as a Permanent Deacon, a man ordained to the ministry of Charity, Word, and Sacrament, you are invited to take part in an upcoming information session. Presentation will include information concerning the role of a deacon, the discernment process, and the 5-year Diaconate Formation Program. Before registering to attend these sessions, please schedule a meeting with your pastor to discuss your call to the diaconate.
