Don’t forget to come to the Lower school harvest assembly on Thursday April 12. Thanks to those wishing for further clarity on our Contribution Requests and Fees. We are sending letters to every family via email to give more information on this, so we hope this ‘hits the mark’ on what was wanted. Please do write to the CPG (College Principal Group) if you have any further issues. Money is both a necessary and sensitive area and we want everyone to have as much clarity as well as sense of responsibility to maintain and grow our special school qualities. Thank you everyone for your positive engagement with the financial questions. The BIG LAUNCH of our new WEBSITE happens next week. Check it out on April 6 th (a little push back from April 1). Thanks to those who have completed their permission forms for student images - we won’t ever be putting names on website photos nor on our school’s Facebook pages. The website has taken a lot of time and work to get there. Thanks to anyone who has contributed in any small way or who has waited patiently for it to happen. I hope you love it! Another bravo – this time to class 10 students, Sam Wakelin (our social studies teacher) and Jayne Crawford. Sam contacted Gloriavale and asked, consequent to the bad publicity they have received, whether a group from our school could meet and interview students there. Gloriavale replied very positively and so they took off over the weekend to do just that. It’s a tribute to class 10 innovation towards a living social study outside media bias and to Sam for the encouragement and journeying with the students. We look forward to a report. We are officially a student non-smoking school. The latest data from the ASH (Action for smoke free 2015) national survey – Rudolf Steiner Year 10 - 0% are regular smokers, 0% are daily smokers, 83% have never smoked. Kei te pai to all the students who are making wise health choices! Close accident yesterday between car and child in the staff car park! No parents or children are to walk or scoot through the car parks. Everyone MUST use the paths provided. No one is to enter school through the back carpark, but to use the entrance next to the library (half way between Fifield Tce and the school carpark). Please set a good example to your children, do not walk on driveways, teach your children to use the safe pathways provided. Our condolences to Cashmere high and to the family of the student who died on the way to school this week. We hope you enjoy your EASTER holiday, please note that there is no school on Friday (Good Friday) or Monday and Tuesday. We will see you refreshed and ready to go on Wednesday 4 April. A huge hurrah and thanks to Gary Miller and Wendy McLoughlin for their fantastic work in getting

the HARVEST MARKET together last weekend. With the help of most classes, and craft stall people,

the day was a gentle, sweet Autumn celebration of good energy, food, music and sunshine.

Thanks to all the parents and students who supported their class fundraising by serving at the

stalls. A special BRAVO must go to the musicians – to Reinald Harmer, piano, Isla and class 9 girls,

Shelly Sweet's Marimba troupe for an hour! (they were fab!), Allaura, violin - all the acts were

brilliant and created such a joyous backdrop to the event - so appreciated! Don’t forget to

come to the Lower school harvest assembly on Thursday April 12.

Thanks to those wishing for further clarity on our Contribution Requests and Fees. We are sending

letters to every family via email to give more information on this, so we hope this ‘hits the mark’

on what was wanted. Please do write to the CPG (College Principal Group) if you have any

further issues. Money is both a necessary and sensitive area and we want everyone to have as

much clarity as well as sense of responsibility to maintain and grow our special school qualities.

Thank you everyone for your positive engagement with the financial questions.

The BIG LAUNCH of our new WEBSITE happens next week. Check it out on April 6th (a little push

back from April 1). Thanks to those who have completed their permission forms for student

images - we won’t ever be putting names on website photos nor on our school’s Facebook

pages. The website has taken a lot of time and work to get there. Thanks to anyone who has

contributed in any small way or who has waited patiently for it to happen. I hope you love it!

Another bravo – this time to class 10 students, Sam Wakelin (our social studies teacher) and

Jayne Crawford. Sam contacted Gloriavale and asked, consequent to the bad publicity they

have received, whether a group from our school could meet and interview students there.

Gloriavale replied very positively and so they took off over the weekend to do just that. It’s a

tribute to class 10 innovation towards a living social study outside media bias and to Sam for the

encouragement and journeying with the students. We look forward to a report.

We are officially a student non-smoking school. The latest data from the ASH (Action for smoke

free 2015) national survey – Rudolf Steiner Year 10 - 0% are regular smokers, 0% are daily smokers,

83% have never smoked. Kei te pai to all the students who are making wise health choices!

Close accident yesterday between car and child in the staff car park! No parents or children are

to walk or scoot through the car parks. Everyone MUST use the paths provided. No one is to enter

school through the back carpark, but to use the entrance next to the library (half way between

CALLING ALL OLD MOBILE PHONES Help Sustainable Coastlines look after NZ’s coastlines and waterways

It would be great if you could have one last rummage around in your drawers and toy boxes and bring into school any unwanted mobile phones before the end of term. Phones collected help our school gain valuable rewards. It is also of benefit to the

environment by keeping our landfills free of mobile phones and their array of hazardous toxic substances. Please drop any unwanted mobile phones you may have to the school office.

WANTED CHOROI FLUTES Class 3 would love to purchase any Choroi Flutes/Recorders that are in good condition.
