From the Pastor’s Desk

There is much to say this weekend. First, I want to highlight the fact that the Church throughout the world is celebrating Trinity Sunday. Catholics everywhere are asked to ponder anew the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity. It is indeed a mystery! We worship one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God the Father loves God the Son. Likewise, God the Son loves God the Father. And the Holy Spirit is the fruit of their infinite, eternal love.

Through baptism, the life of the Most Holy Trinity dwells in our soul. Motivated by this divine love within us, we are called to spend ourselves in loving service to God and neighbor. In other words, the loving communion of the Most Holy Trinity is the model and goal of our lives. Because we are made in the image and likeness of God, our ultimate destiny is to be received into the eternal, infinite communion of love of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Our country celebrates Memorial Day on Monday, which is more than the beginning of summer. This day is set aside to honor those men and women who gave their lives while serving in the military. It is our tremendous responsibility as Catholics to pray for the dead. This weekend, we focus our prayers specifically on fallen soldiers. We also pray that peace and justice might take root in our world so that lives will no longer be threaten by war.

Seth Keller has arrived at the parish. Seth is our summer seminarian who will be with us until August. The problem is that, due to other commitments on his calendar, he will not be able to introduce himself at weekend Masses until June 9-10. When you eventually see Seth, please welcome him warmly. And please pray for all of our seminarians as they take a break from their studies this summer.

Lastly, let me thank everyone who celebrated last Thursday the tenth anniversary of my priesthood ordination. I genuinely appreciate your kindness and love. Please know how grateful I am to all the people of Christ the King who make this a wonderful place to be a priest! May the Lord bless you throughout the upcoming week.

The Sisters’ Corner

The sisters would like to invite all young people of the parish between the ages of 11-15 to participate in a bible study next Saturday, June 2, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the convent. Bring your bible! (This event is in Spanish.) Because next weekend is Corpus Christi, we have scheduled extra time for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. We will have Adoration this Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. We will also have our regular Friday Adoration from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Desde el Escritorio del Párroco

Hay mucho para decir este fin de semana. Primero, quiero resaltar el hecho de que la Iglesia celebra el Domingo de la Trinidad. A los católicos de todo el mundo se les pide que reflexionen de nuevo sobre el misterio de la Santísima Trinidad. ¡Esto es un misterio! Adoramos a Dios en tres personas: Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo. Creemos que Dios Padre ama a Dios Hijo. Del mismo modo, Dios Hijo ama a Dios Padre. Y el Espíritu Santo es el fruto de su eterno e infinito amor. Por el bautismo la vida de la Santísima Trinidad mora en nuestra alma. Motivados por este amor divino dentro de nosotros, estamos llamados a entregarnos en servicio amoroso a Dios y al prójimo. En otras palabras, la comunión amorosa de la Santísima Trinidad es el modelo y la meta de nuestras vidas. Como estamos hechos a imagen y semejanza de Dios, nuestro destino final es llegar a la comunión eterna e infinita de amor del Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo. Nuestro país celebra el Día de los Caídos el lunes, y es más que el inicio del verano. Este día está dedicado a honrar a los hombres y mujeres que dieron sus vidas sirviendo en el ejército. Como católicos, es nuestra responsabilidad orar por los difuntos. Este fin de semana, enfocamos nuestras oraciones especialmente en los soldados caídos. Rezamos para que la paz y la justicia se arraiguen en nuestro mundo, para que las vidas ya no sean amenazadas por la guerra. Seth Keller ha llegado a la parroquia. Seth es nuestro seminarista de verano que estará aquí hasta agosto. Alpha a success! Serving is both easy and enjoyable. In order to learn more about Alpha, several volunteer informational meetings will be offered in the church basement in the coming weeks. The Knights of Columbus would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Support our Seminarians (SOS) fund. The

Knights recently attended their State Convention and our Council received a plaque for placing 7th in the State! This is quite an accomplishment, considering the size of our parish. Please continue to support this great cause! Our next collection for SOS will be the weekend of July 28-29.

All Saints Academy Catholic School

The last day of school is Wednesday, May 30. Congratulations to our 8th grade graduates. We also want to thank Mrs. Lynn Hauenstein who is retiring this year. She has worked for Christ the King and All Saints for many years and her service is greatly appreciated. We wish her well with her new adventures. Help Wanted! The school is looking to hire a full time person to help clean the building in the summer. The work will include cleaning classrooms, restrooms, windows, light fixtures, etc. The pay is $10 an hour with 40 hours of work per week available. We are also in search of a full time employee for the 2018-2019 school year for custodial work. The pay is $10 per hour. Lastly, we are looking to hire a school secretary to work from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for the 2018-2019 school year. We would like to have someone with office experience and who speaks Spanish. If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact the school office at 614-231-3391.

The Diocesan Senior Citizens Day Celebration will be Tuesday, June 19, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Grove City. Bishop

Campbell will celebrate Mass at 10:30 a.m., and a luncheon will follow. This is an opportunity for seniors to meet with other seniors from around the Diocese. Registration is $15.
