From the Pastor’s Desk

I want to wish everyone a very blessed Christmas season! This is a time dedicated to pondering anew the mystery of our Lord’s Incarnation – the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity took on our human nature and dwelt among us. God has lovingly entered into the human condition and, in the person of Jesus, he remains intimately united to each one of us as we experience life’s ups and downs. Reflecting on the reality of Jesus’ abiding presence is the stuff of our prayer throughout the season of Christmas. There are some important feast days on the Church’s calendar this week. December 26 is the Feast of Saint Stephen the Martyr; December 27 is the Feast of Saint John the Apostle; December 28 is the Feast of the Holy Innocents; and December 30 is the Feast of the Holy Family. If you have free time between Christmas and New Year, try visiting church for a daily Mass. (The schedule is in the bulletin.) Daily Mass is a privileged opportunity for us to listen, pray, and receive spiritual gifts from the Lord. It is an investment of time that you will not regret. I hope to see you in church soon!

¡Quiero desearles a todos un tiempo de Navidad bendito! Este es un tiempo dedicado a meditar de nuevo sobre el misterio de la Encarnación de nuestro Señor - la Segunda Persona de la Santísima Trinidad tomó nuestra naturaleza humana y habitó entre nosotros. Dios ha entrado amorosamente a la condición humana y, en la persona de Jesús, permanece íntimamente unido a cada uno de nosotros en todos los altibajos de la vida. Reflexionar sobre la realidad de la presencia de Jesús es el centro de nuestra oración durante todo el tiempo de Navidad. Hay días de fiesta importantes en el calendario de la Iglesia esta semana. El 26 de diciembre es la fiesta de San Esteban el Mártir; el 27 de diciembre es la Fiesta de San Juan Apóstol; el 28 de diciembre es la Fiesta de los Santos Inocentes; y el 30 de diciembre es la Fiesta de la Sagrada Familia. Winter Fest 2017 is just around the corner! We will be celebrating

this event on Saturday, February 25. Please remember to drop off your raffle tickets in the vestibule after Mass. Let’s make this year’s Winter Fest a success! (This event is bilingual.) Sole Care is a ministry that provides foot care and socks for the homeless. They soak feet, cut/file toenails, pare down calluses and

massage feet with lotion. New socks are also distributed. They are in need of shoes to give to homeless individuals, particularly shoes that can support a lot of walking. If you have shoes to donate, please place them in the box labeled Shoes for Sole Care in the church vestibule.

Outside the Parish

The Pontifical College Josephinum is a Roman Catholic Seminary located in Columbus. Seminarians at the Josephinum

need transportation from time to time for a variety of local needs. The Josephinum has a fleet of vehicles that seminarians utilize for transportation and could use additional vans. If you have a used van that you would like to donate to the Josephinum, please contact the business office at 614-985-2230. The Josephinum is a non-profit charitable organization and can provide appropriate documentation for the donation of a vehicle. (This event is bilingual.) The Catholic Men’s Luncheon Club is accepting nominations for the Diocese of Columbus 2017 Catholic Man of the Year. This

annual award – to be presented by Bishop Frederick Campbell on Friday, February 3, at the Men’s Luncheon – recognizes one lay man who, through his daily actions, words, and prayers, exemplifies the “good and faithful servant”.
