To those marked with the cross of Christ,
April 1 is April Fool’s Day. Many consider following Jesus a fool’s errand. But in these early days of April, we consider Jesus the pathway to the most real and meaningful life. This Lenten journey at COS, our focus is the conviction that Jesus walked to the cross with purpose. One purpose is that we might be freed to walk with Jesus, back to God's future. Another key purpose is that in freedom, we’d be in-spired to “Just Walk Across the Room” to share resurrection love with those God has placed in our spheres of influence. We’ve learned that one way of describing Resurrection Living is Living in 3-D:
1. Developing Friendships. Every single person you meet is God's handiwork, loved dearly by God, and put on this earth with purpose and value. So let’s get be-yond our impulse to judge others or stay within our own bubbles of acquaintances, and develop connections with anybody God puts in our path. As creations of God, we have the privilege of getting to know somebody (no matter what flaw they might seem to display). Christ followers are eager to develop friendships, at whatever level, with just about anybody they meet.
2. Let’s Discover Stories. Jesus was passionate about hearing people’s stories. Jesus hung out at wells to ask women others wouldn’t speak to about their hopes. Jesus listened to the Em-maus travelers about their confusion and despair. The list goes on. What a gift YOU can give by simply listening to another person share their life. We honor each other and God when we give quality attention to the people God places in our pathways.
3. Finally, after we’ve “just walked across the room” to develop friendships and discover sto-ries, God will help us Discern Next Steps. Maybe God prompts us to invite somebody to church with us, or to give them a devotional that might help, or to encourage them to take a specific step of healing or growth. People will be open to our support once we’ve shown we really care for them. And God will lead us in doing so!
As Jesus walks to the cross for us, and then walks from the tomb of death, let us too walk with him into new life. Let’s walk boldly into the lives of others with greater confidence, joy, and hope that God will bless us to be a blessing. Here are two specific Easter challenges:
1. Target one specific person for a“3D Engagement.” Pray that God would help build a bridge with one specific person you can engage at the gym, school, or restaurant. Live 3D! You can do it!
2. Also, stand ready to share your story. Everyone has one. This Lent, we’ve been challenged to prepare our 45-second faith testimony. When someone wants to know why we have hope in Jesus, we don’t want to mumble and stammer. We want to offer a compelling, rehearsed, thoughtful answer that is worthy of our faith. (1 Pet 3.15) Write it down. Practice it with a friend. Get ready for God to use you.
April 1 is April Fool’s Day. Christians who believe in the resurrection but don’t share that news with anybody seem pretty foolish. Thanks for helping Christ Our Shepherd take the right spin on this. Let’s be passionate about celebrating that Jesus pulls the biggest trick on death and sin by rising from the dead—and let’s boldly prepare to share that love with others in very specific ways.
Living 3-D with you,
Pastor Fritz

Spotlight on our Staff Lisa Cover, Communications Coordinator, is our newest
staff member. Lisa started here in February and her
job is to be in charge of the weekly church bulletins,
monthly newsletters, Constant Contact emails and any
other communication from the church. Lisa is also
working with a group of volunteers to reformat the
COS website. She has lots of great ideas to use in the future.
Lisa may look familiar because she worked here previously as an assistant to the Youth program. She is
the mother of two children, Davis, 10, and Anna, 6. Lisa and her husband Steven have been married for
almost 12 years and they live in Senoia. Lisa grew up in Union City, but attended Fayette County
schools. She and her family love to travel, especially to the beach.
She loves working on computers and getting things organized, so she was really excited for this opportu-
nity. However, one thing about this position that she thinks could be a challenge is getting everyone to
meet their publishing deadlines, mainly because the staff is always so busy.
Her very appropriate favorite Bible verse is Phil: 4:13, which says "I can do all things through Christ who
gives me strength." Since Lisa is now acting as a gestational carrier, carrying baby Lily for her brother
and sister-in-law, and starting a new job, she certainly is "doing all things"! When asked what brought
her back to COS, Lisa commented that it's like a family here. "It's a blessing to work where you really
enjoy what you do and feel appreciated," she said. We certainly think having Lisa with us is a blessing!

Children & Family Ministries The Shepherd’s Flock Band (M&M Kids) en-hanced our worship ex-perience at both the contemporary and tradi-tional mid-morning ser-vices recently by sing-
ing “For God So Loved the World”. They are now practicing for the spring musical, “We are United”. Join them on Saturday, April 30th at 7pm or Sunday, May 1st at 11am to hear their message of unity.
During Lent, many families are doing daily devotions together at home with the booklet, “Jesus in Jerusa-lem”. The daily devotions and accompanying stick-ers take the children through Jesus’ last days before His resurrection with Bible readings and discussion points. My family is enjoying this time together. We take turns reading the Bible verse first and then de-votion each night at dinner.
If you are in town during Spring Break, plan to join your child in Sunday School on April 3rd as 3yr olds through 5th graders and their parents meet together in Rm. 232 for a special lesson for families.
There is no Sunday School on April 24th, Easter Sunday.
The first three Sundays of May, fifth graders and their parents are invited to join in a special Together in Faith program where they will discuss the sacra-ment of communion.
As an extension of the Children’s Ministry, Christ Our Shepherd hosted its 2nd Parent’s Night Out on March 19th. The children enjoyed fellowship, games, pizza and popcorn as their parents enjoyed some together time. The church will host a Parents Night Out each quarter. Keep an eye out for the date of the next PNO.
** We are always looking for adults to help watch and entertain the kids during Parents Night Out. When parents have young children at home, it is often hard to find time to connect with each other. The Parents Night out ministry offers a safe afford-able break for parents. Children enjoy the fellowship of playing with friends and can make a meaningful connection with other adults in the church.
Blessings,
Candace Robichaux, Director of Children & Family Minsitry

High School
Spring break, Easter, proms, tournaments, plays, concerts,
practice – April is full of celebrations and eager events!
Our grandma Vivian is turning 100 years old this month!
Think of all the Easters, births, deaths, and special celebra-
tions she has gone through! We forget it, but each day of
our lives should be a celebration. Make those little mo-
ments a celebration: I saw my first blue bird today! We
had friends over for dinner last night. The entire family
was together for a meal Friday night. My sister called just
to see how I was doing. A stranger on the street smiled at
me as we passed. How about the blooms all over the
place! If we think it’s beautiful here, how glorious heaven
must be. Even on a low day, try to reflect on something
that was beautiful during your day.
God’s Blessings during this time of Lent,
Ms. Ann
