Build a Responsive and Shared Leadership Structure

These pillars have served our Faith Family extremely well during these five years and are expected to do so as we continue our spiritual journey.

We believed it was necessary to develop a 21st century operating model to implement the third pillar, and so we established a Parish Operating Council (POC). I am happy to report that the POC has provided excellent support and advice to me throughout this period, introducing a number of high-quality programs, and doing so in a timely, responsive nner.

Divine Mercy Sunday

God has spoken to the saints in numerous ways including through many interior graces and inspirations. But even the greatest mystic, living on the heights of holiness, must ultimately submit to the Voice of God spoken through His Church. The Church, especially in the person of our Holy Father, is the clearest channel of the Voice of God in our world. Through the Church we will be led to Heaven. We must always strive to be in perfect union with Christ as He is alive and made manifest to us through His Church. We must let ourselves be led by God through our bishops, pastors and all to whom He has entrusted our pastoral care. Giving authority to the Church was God’s idea and plan; it must also become ours (See Diary #497).

Do you see the wisdom of the plan of God as He has chosen to reveal Himself to us through the Church? Do you believe in the Church as the Mother and Teacher of your faith? Do you especially trust in the words of our Holy Father, the Pope? Make an act of faith, this day, putting your wholehearted trust in the Voice of God spoken through His Church and you will begin to more fully understand the countless mysteries of life that God has revealed.

Dear Lord, I desire to be obedient to You in all things. I desire to hear Your Voice and follow Your commands. Help me to have the wisdom to discern You speaking

and acting through Your Church. May I see beyond the person of the priest, bishop and the Holy Father so as to discover Your guiding hand.

Jesus, I trust in You.

The Divine Mercy message is one we can call to mind simply by remembering ABC: A - Ask for His Mercy. God wants us to approach Him in prayer constantly, repenting of our sins and asking Him to pour His mercy out upon us and upon the whole world. B - Be merciful. God wants us to receive His mercy and let it flow through us to others. He wants us to extend love and forgiveness to others just as He does to us. C - Completely trust in Jesus. AS REVEALED TO ST. FAUSTINA KOWALSKA Diary of St. Faustina Kowalska, titled Divine Mercy in My Soul

1. “I promise that the soul that will venerate this image (of Divine Mercy) will not perish. I also promise victory over (its) enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own glory.” (Diary, 48)

2. “The souls that say this chaplet will be embraced by My mercy during their lifetime and especially at the hour of their death.” (Diary, 754)

3. “When hardened sinners say it, I will fill their souls with peace, and the hour of their death will be a happy one.” (Diary, 1541)

4. “When they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as a just Judge but as a merciful Savior.”

5. “Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death.” (Diary, 687)

6. “Priests will recommend it to sinners as their last hope of salvation. Even if there were a sinner most hardened, if he were to recite this chaplet only once, he would receive grace from My infinite mercy…I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those

yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony…I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion.” (Diary, 1320; also, cf. Diary, 1572)

10. “Souls who spread the honor of My mercy…at the hour of death I will not be a Judge for them, but the Merciful Savior.” (Diary, 1075)

11. “The two rays denote Blood and Water…These two rays issued from the very depths of My tender mercy when My agonized Heart was opened by a lance on the Cross. These rays shield souls from the wrath of My Father…I desire that the first Sunday after Easter be the Feast of Mercy…whoever approaches the Fount of Life on this day will be granted complete remission of sins and punishment.
