Man Plans, But God Directs Proverbs 16.9
We hear a lot of bad news these days.
If you tune in to the news, there are plenty of bad things happening, which should not surprise us because of what John said, “all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever” (1 John 2.15–17). COVID-19 is just another reminder of the passing-away nature of the world.
There is Good News, but using the word “Gospel,” tends to make us forget that good news.
Jesus rose from the dead, showing that death is not the end, but His resurrection gives us hope for our own resurrections and that we shall, therefore, have everlasting life. Jesus died to free us from our sin and its guilt, but He rose from the dead to show us that not only are our sins removed, but now we can live forever with God in heaven!

Dearest Church Family I know many of you are really good at writing cards and notes to others. I just want to encourage you to take this op-portunity to continue writing letters to the people in our
congregation. Send a note to our shut-ins or to the kids who are out of school and also to those in the Church that you don't know very well. Who doesn't love to get a handwrit-ten letter in the mail?
April Activities: Services, classes and all other activities at the Church have been cancelled through April.
Please pray for the Chamberlain Family. They are a Medford family who re-cently lost an 8th grade son, Wyatt, to a firearms accident. Wyatt attended school with the Crisp kids.
Please pray for little Eli Hartley. He is a newborn who was born with backward heart valves. Doctors performed surgery, but the little guy is not responding well at all. This is the nephew of one of the Crisps' employees. Doctors are now looking at last ditch efforts to save him.
Please pray for our church children as they adjust to their online schooling and the new temptations that they face in these times.
Let's praise God that none of our church family members have gotten the Covid-19 virus!

Excellent Spouses and Shameful Spouses
An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones. – Proverbs 12.4
Of course what Solomon said would apply in the reverse, that an excellent husband is the crown of his wife, but he who causes shame is like rottenness in her bones. Do not get caught up in what is politically incorrect with our generation, but simply see that the Bible is making a point about what a spouse can do to the other one. The kind of person that each of us is affects the person with whom we live. We can be like a crown to our spouse by excellent behavior or we can be like rottenness in the bones by our shameful behavior. The question is: Am I excellent or shameful?
The Power of Kindness “Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.”– Scott Adams
“Kindness is love in action.”– Henry Drummond
“A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions.”– Amelia Earhart
“What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult to each other?”– George Eliot
“When I was young, I admired clever people. Now that I am old, I admire kind people.”– Abraham Joshua Heschel
“It is a little embarrassing that, after forty-five years of research and study, the best advice I can give to people is to be a little kinder to each other.”– Aldous Huxley
“Surely there is no road of effort so steep but a loving deed may soften its harshness.”– Helen Keller
“If you stop to be kind, you must swerve often from your path.”– Mary Webb
“What is desired in a man is kindness, And a poor man is better than a liar.” – Proverbs 19.22
Your Notes and Cash Contributions It is nice to read the notes that some of you attach to your contributions when you mail them in. For those of you who mail cash and for those of you who bring it to the building, could you write on a note inside of your envelope how much cash you are giving, and then sign it. This will keep things above board and protects me. Thank you.
