“To see the unseen isn’t the same as “being optimistic.” It actually means “to see the way God sees, and

speak of the physically non-existent as though they already existed.” In his letter to the Roman Church, Paul shared something very instructive about the God-kind of faith: “...God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did” (Romans 4:17). When you’re so convinced that something is yours, even if you don’t see it with your physical eyes, it’s absolutely impossible for the devil or anyone to talk you out of it, because you’ve already possessed it by your faith, using the power of your thought.”

MIRACLES AREN’T DIFFICULT

T O THE BIBLE Hebrews 4:12“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

“Who will pray for Mum now that she needs a miracle in her health?” Sebastian thought, as

he worried over his mother’s impending surgery. He figured that he needed a serious, powerful prayer session with others, which would get to God’s ears quickly. Little did he realise that he could just pray a simple prayer, by himself, to a powerful God, and his mother wouldn’t have to undergo any surgery. Like Sebastian, many believe that what they need when they’re in an apparent predicament is a “powerful prayer.” So, they look for that “superstar” Christian that’ll pray a powerful prayer to God for them.

Others say, “But I have several people praying for me, yet my situation hasn’t changed.” God never said your miracle will occur on the basis of the multiplicity of prayers. What He wants is for you to be in control of your life, through the Spirit. It’s one of the reasons He gave you His Word, and the Holy Spirit. If you’d live according to God’s Word, you wouldn’t need a plethora of prophets praying for you before you can walk in God’s blessings. Acting on the Word is what you need.

God’s Word is absolute reality, and all you need to keep experiencing victory and promotion in life is living by

the principles of God’s Word. For example, when the Word says you’re righteous; believe it and affirm your righteousness, irrespective of Satan’s accusations or feelings of condemnation that you may sometimes have.

Declare that you’re blessed, highly favoured, and prosperous in all things, because the Word says so. Declare that you live the life of the miraculous consistently. Once you’re sure of what the Word says about the issue, demand a change on the basis of God’s Word. This isn’t about prayer; it’s about acting your faith to walk in God’s provision for you! It’s about standing on the Word of God for yourself. Hallelujah!

MORE AND MORE LOVE

T O THE BIBLE Matthew 22:37“Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’’”

(To Know Jesus’ Love For YouMakes You Love Him More)

LET’S TALK

Saturday, May 2

When we tell people how much the Lord Jesus loves them, and how God isn’t holding any

sin against them, there’re those who don’t like it. They say we’re giving people a licence to do wrong, but how could that be? The love of Jesus Christ never gives anyone liberty or the desire to sin. The truth is that the more you learn about the Lord, the more you want to love Him; to know Him is to love Him. And the more you love Him, the less you want to do anything that’s offensive to Him.

So, it’s not true that the love of Christ makes people want to do wrong, and think they can get away with it. No! The result of God’s love is more love. And because you love Him, you keep His Word; you do what He wants. That’s what Jesus said: “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). The proof of your love is keeping His Word, and His Word instructs you to abstain from sin. Romans 6:1-2 says, “…Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?”

We take advantage of His grace and love, but not against Him. Always remember, no one gets to know Jesus without loving Him. If you truly know Him, you’ll love Him.

The Bible says we love Him because He first loved us. And we know He loves us from the message that came to us, and we received that message and came into fellowship with Him.

Once you’re in fellowship with Him, all you want to do is love Him, and please Him; He takes first place in your life. That’s the necessary result of love. Nothing pleases the Father more than your genuine love for Jesus Christ.

GREATER THAN ANY SYRUP

T O THE BIBLE 1 C orinthians 11:26 TLB“For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup you are retelling the message of the Lord’s death, that he has died for you. Do this until he comes again.”

(There’s Power In The Blood Of Jesus Christ)

Jesus never told us to take a drink of water for healing, even though we might, if we’re led by the Spirit to do

so at any time. He never told us to swallow or rub anything, even though we might do so, if we’re particularly led by the Spirit. However, one thing He told us to drink is the cup of His blood! He said to do it in memory of Him (1 Corinthians 11:25).

That blood is greater than any drug or syrup; it’s effectual and effective against any kind of sickness or infirmity. The Bible says His blood speaks better things than the blood of Abel, and it cries for salvation rather than vengeance (Hebrews 12:24). That’s why we take the Communion, because when we do, we testify that the blood of Jesus that was shed (in our behalf) has brought us into fellowship with God, made us whole, safe, sound, and excellent.

The communion of His body and blood serves to remind you of your unbroken and unbreakable fellowship with Him, as well as your wholeness or completeness in Him. His divine blood speaks your divine health; it speaks to devils of darkness, angels of God, and all of creation that the reason Jesus died has been fulfilled in your life. As you partake of the Communion, you’re affirming that nothing of the devil can

thrive in your body. His blood was poured out that you may live; so, it makes no difference what the problem is; by the power of the Holy Spirit, the victory is yours. What an amazing grace the blood of the Lord Jesus brought to us!

Perhaps you’ve been suffering from an incurable blood disease or having symptoms of cancer; the blood of Jesus speaks your healing. Believe this and affirm accordingly. His body was broken that we may never be broken by sickness, disease or pain. He gave His life that you may live in health and strength. Hallelujah!

I’ve been transferred from the domain of darkness into God’s Kingdom of life, light, and glory, where I reign and rule with Jesus. I’ll never be sick, broken, wounded or be defeated because I have the life of God in me. Righteousness, success, divine health, and supernatural prosperity are part of my divine heritage in Christ. Glory to His Name forever!

HOPE HASN’TBEEN LOST

T O THE BIBLE Romans 8:28 NASB“...We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

(You Were Built For Tough Times)

Monday, May 4

Stacy was teary-eyed as she sat on the stairs leading to her dorm room. “What do I tell Dad now?” she

kept saying to herself, holding her head in her hands. She was to repeat a class course, because she’d been absent during a surprise test in class. She’d been out sharing the Gospel during the test. As she sat by herself, Laura noticed her and came closer to her, asking her what the matter was. When Laura got the full gist of it, she sat and prayed with Stacy, declaring a positive change in her class assessment. The next week, the lecturer called for all those who missed the test and organised another test for them, which Stacy aced!

You see, there’s no hopelessness for a child of God. It doesn’t matter what you have faced or are currently facing in your life; the challenges aren’t for your destruction. Not many know this; hence, they faint in the face of trouble. We’re built for tough times. 2 Corinthians 4:17 says, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” Therefore, face tough times and win. The troubles you face are for your testimonies.

The Lord said, “When you go through deep waters and

great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up—the flames will not consume you” (Isaiah 43:2 TLB). It makes no difference what comes against you; you’re more than a conqueror. Perhaps, in the situation that you’re in, it seems like there’s no help in sight; don’t give up. You’ve probably been handed an unpleasant doctor’s report; trust the Name of Jesus! Irrespective of the pain or symptoms, keep declaring, “I’m perfectly healthy; my body is vitalised by the Holy Ghost who lives in me!” Remember, there’s someone living inside you that makes you indomitable; no matter what you face, you win.

DON’T SWEATIT!

T O THE BIBLE Hebrews 4:11“Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.”

(You’re Called To Rest And Live In Blessings)

Tuesday, May 5

A lot of people are struggling in life when they ought to be living a life filled with God’s blessings.

Some even pray to the Lord to give them this or that, and yet the Bible says He’s already blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3). God has already done all He ever needed to do for mankind. The Bible says, “…We who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, “They shall not enter My rest,”” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world” (Hebrews 4:3).

God isn’t in heaven, thinking of what to do about your healing, deliverance, prosperity or any such thing; no. He’s not even thinking of what to do about the salvation of the one who hasn’t yet received Christ. You might then wonder, “So what’s God doing?” He’s at rest! He already did everything He needed to do about your salvation, health, prosperity, etc., and finished the works before the foundation of the world.

Now, He wants you to enjoy all that belongs to you in Christ. He wants you to live in blessings. 2 Peter 1:3 says, “His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us

Being born again, you’ve been brought into the Promised Land, into the land of blessings. What God expects from you now is for you to arise—wake up—into this experience, and live in the fulfilment of His blessings and promises.

T O THE BIBLE Romans 12:2 NIV“...Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

(Walk In God’s Perfect Plan And Will For You)

LET’S TALKYou can live in God’s perfect blueprint for your life,

as you follow Him in and through the Word. You can know and walk in His predetermined path for you. Once you recognise this and give yourself to Him, His will won’t be an enigma to you; He’ll light up your heart and your understanding to comprehend and apprehend His purpose for your life. You’d be in God’s place, in God’s time, for God’s purpose, in God’s way, and for God’s pleasure. Hallelujah!

Nothing about your life should be outside God’s desire and purpose for you, including those you meet each day, the places you go to, the things you do, etc. The Bible says, “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God” (Romans 8:14 NIV). When you yield yourself to the Spirit to lead you, nothing happens to or with you by chance! You’d meet only those He planned to be in your path, whether good or bad, but are essential to fulfilling your destiny in Him.

Nothing beats living in God’s perfect will—His exact plan and purpose—for you at any given time. Therefore, in your life, before you take major steps or decisions, be sure they’re in sync with God’s perfect will. Spend time to meditate on the Word and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and there’ll

be a light in your spirit, and a consciousness of what you’re supposed to do.

Maybe you think you’ve been out of His perfect will for your life, and as a result, things have been skewed. There can be a change even now! First, recognise that God is big enough to change things for you, or even create a new and better destiny for you. Yes, He can, because He’s God Almighty. Secondly, decide that effective immediately, you’ll allow the Holy Spirit have the dominion and mastery in your life. HE’S THETRUTH!

T O THE BIBLE James 1:18 NIV“He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.”

(Life Has Meaning When You’re Born Of The Word Of Truth)

Thursday, May 7

“I don’t enjoy my life,” Jay complained, “I feel like I’m living a lie, and life doesn’t make sense anymore.

No matter how hard I try to be kind, cool, and nice to people, they always think I’m acting fake. Like seriously, is there any point to my existence?”

“Hey, your life isn’t a lie, Jay, and you’re not living a meaningless life,” Rick replied. “Your life isn’t a shadow, because you’re born of God’s Word. That’s the true essence of life, and what gives true meaning and purpose to life.”

This brings to mind the account of the Lord Jesus before Pontius Pilate in John 18: As the Lord was interrogated by Pilate, the Lord said: “...For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth…” (John 18:37). Pilate had to ask Him, “What is truth?”

You see, the world doesn’t know much about truth. In the world, everything is a shadow and life doesn’t make sense; no one ever finds their true reason for being. Even the great Solomon, in all of his wisdom, couldn’t discover truth. He said, “…Everything is completely meaningless! Nothing has any meaning” (Ecclesiastes 1:2 NIRV). No wonder Jesus said, “...indeed a greater than Solomon is here” (Luke 11:31), because

He came to bear witness unto the truth. Moreover, He is truth personified (John 14:6). For anyone

to know truth, they’ve got to know Him, the incarnate Word of God, for whatever the Word says is truth. So many are living a lie, because they’ve rejected the Word, the Word of truth (2 Thessalonians 2:10), but not you! You’re born of His truth.

That’s why you’ve got true joy. Only those born of truth experience the joy of truth; true and lasting joy! Living in and by the Word of truth translates you into the reality of eternity, where you only see and experience endless prosperity, opportunities, and possibilities. Hallelujah!

The Apostle Peter’s life is one of the great stories of a changed life by the Lord Jesus Christ in the Bible. Here are a few distinguishing features about the man Peter, who followed the Lord till the end of his life.

1. The Apostle Peter was certainly one of the boldest witnesses for the faith after he received the Holy Spirit (Acts 2). 2. He was born about 1 B.C. and died sometime around A.D. 67.3. Peter was originally named Simon; Jesus was the One Who changed his name from Simon to Peter, which means “rock” or literally “petra.”

4. He was a Galilean fisherman and the brother of Andrew. These brothers came from the village of Bethsaida (John 1:43, 12:21). 5. Peter was married (Matthew 8:14-15, Mark 1:29-31). 6. Peter was the first disciple that Jesus called, along with His brother Andrew, by the Sea of Galilee (Matthew 4:18-20, Mark 1:16-18).7. One thing that Peter is credited with is the special divine insight which he had concerning Jesus’ identity. He was the first to call Jesus the Son of the Living God – the Messiah (Mark 8:29, Luke 9:20, Matt. 16:16-17). 8. Peter was bold but oftentimes in the wrong about the Lord’s mission on earth. Once, he even rebuked the Lord and said that he was willing to die for Him even though, at the arrest and trial of Jesus, he denied Him three times (Matt. 16:21-22). 9. Peter was an eyewitness to the many miracles that Jesus did and also witnessed God’s manifest glory, along with John and James, during the Transfiguration of Jesus, where Jesus’ humanity was peeled back to reveal the glory of His Divinity (Matt. 17:1-9).10. Peter was the first one to preach on the day of Pentecost after the infilling of the Holy Spirit, and he was the first one to proclaim Christ to a Gentile (Cornelius in Acts 10). 11. He willingly suffered persecution, imprisonment, beatings, and even rejoiced at the fact that he was worthy to suffer disgrace for the Lord‘s sake (Acts 5:41). 12. Peter is said to have been crucified upside down because he felt unworthy to be crucified in the same way the Lord Jesus Christ was.

YOU’RE ONE OF “THE SAINTS!”

T O THE BIBLE Ephesians 1:1“Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus”

(You Are Holy And Purified In Christ)

LET’S TALK

Friday, May 8

From the underlined portion of our opening verse, it’s clear that saints aren’t only “holy” Christians who

have died and gone to heaven. There were saints at Ephesus, and that tells us something: if there were saints at that time, there must be saints today, even where you live. Yet, there are some, who, because of their limited understanding of God’s Word, affirm that there’s no one on earth who’s qualified to be called a saint.

The question to ask is, who are saints? Saints are those that have been purified in Christ by virtue of the New Birth, and have been consecrated to God; they’ve been made holy to God; they’ve been separated from the world to Christ. That separation took place the instant you were born again, and it was done by the Holy Ghost. Therefore, as a child of God, you’ve become a saint. You were born that way because you’re in Christ.

Someone says, “But saints are holy people”; yes! And that’s who the Christian is! In Hebrews 3:1 CEV, we’re called “holy people.” The Hebrew recipients of this letter were living on earth when it was written to them. They were addressed as holy, and partakers of the heavenly calling. So, your being a saint has nothing to do with man’s description of you or

even your personal opinion of you. It’s about what God says. He calls us names according to His vision and perception of us.

Your responsibility, therefore, is to answer the name He has called you. For that reason, the next time someone queries you and says, “Are you saying you’re a saint?” You ought to say, “Yes, I am, because God said so.” In your mind, you may not think that you are, but once you align your thoughts with God’s thoughts, you’ll start living accordingly. So, call yourself what God has called you. Hallelujah!

USE PERFECT SPEECH

T O THE BIBLE James 3:2“For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.”

Christian perfection or maturity is expressed chiefly in your mouth—your communication. If you want

to go in the right direction in life, your tongue is the compass. If you offend in words, that is, if your communication is unwholesome, your life will be in jeopardy. Your speech controls you. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue….” Jesus said, “…For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Matthew 12:34). So, through your thoughts, your character is formed, but it’s expressed in your talk, in your words. Meaning, your thinking is your character, but your “talking” is your life. That’s how important your words are.

Romans 10:10 says, “…with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” It’s a principle. God said to Joshua, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night…” (Joshua 1:8). Meditate on the Word of God; keep it in your mouth. That means keep affirming the Word. No matter what’s happening around you, speak the Word. The Bible says, “When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, there is lifting up…” (Job 22:29 KJV). Again, the emphasis is on what you say.

When things are rough and tough, you’re not to wait

You lift yourself from the negative situation you’re facing to the positive one. It’s about what you say! Declare that you’re supremely blessed, prosperous, smart, full of wisdom and walking in health and abundance, and your life will gravitate in that direction.

That’s what Jesus said in Mark 11:23: “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, “Go, throw yourself into the sea,” and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them” (NIV). A RAREUNDERSTANDING

T O THE BIBLE Ephesians 1:17 AMP C“[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him”

LET’S TALK

Sunday, May 10

In John 20:21-22, the Lord did something to His disciples which was so beautiful yet profound

after He was resurrected. While they were in a room, He came in among them, and He “…breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”” Luke 24:45 AMPC gave us a clearer picture into what Jesus actually did to the disciples; it says, “...He [thoroughly] opened up their minds to understand the Scriptures.” He granted them spiritual insight to the Scriptures!

Suddenly, they understood why Christ had to suffer, and the glory that was to be revealed. Prior to that time, He had shared the same thoughts with them, but they didn’t quite catch it then. Peter, for one, rebuked Him when He said He would have to be crucified on the Cross. But now, after He opened their understanding, they became spiritually enlightened; they had insight!

Insight means clear, deep, and usually sudden understanding and perception of a situation, subject, or mystery. It’s one of the many blessings of having the Holy Spirit in you: He gives you insight into mysteries and secrets.

YOU’RE ANOINTEDALREADY!

T O THE BIBLE Acts 1:8“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

(The Anointing Comes With The Holy Spirit)

LET’S TALK

Monday, May 11

Have you heard some people teach that after you’ve been born again, you receive the Holy

Spirit, and later on you receive “the anointing”? That’s not what the Bible teaches, because the anointing comes with the Holy Spirit. In the New Testament, we all have the same Holy Spirit, and the same anointing, because the anointing we have is the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible says in Acts 10:38, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power…”; that’s the same Holy Spirit and power Jesus had and referred to in our opening verse, which we also have today. So, when you have the Holy Spirit, you have all the power you need. You’ve been anointed already!

Luke 1:35 lets us into the dialogue between the angel Gabriel and Mary. The angel said to Mary, “…The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you….” Some have read this and ran off with the idea that the Spirit comes into you first, and then His power or anointing comes next, and they’re wrong. The two expressions point to the same thing.

The power of the Highest overshadowing her is as a result of the Holy Ghost coming upon her. In the Old Testament, He “came upon” them; in the New Testament, He lives in us. That’s why Jesus said you shall receive power when the Holy Ghost comes, because the Holy Ghost comes with the power. He’s the power of God. With the Holy Spirit, you don’t lack any power or ability; He’s your ability. THINK THE WORD

Connor unconsciously replayed negative thoughts in his mind whenever he walked home. “Why me?”

he would muse, “I always have the short end of the stick when it comes to making friends. Nobody likes me! The same thing with my school applications; I just can’t get into the school of my choice, and I’m not getting any younger. What’s wrong with me?” He was unaware that his thoughts influenced his life in the downward direction and made him a victim of circumstance.

Most people, like Connor, are defeated in life because of their thinking; they’re enslaved by their wrong mentality. You’re not different from the way you think. Through months and years of continually thinking in a certain way, your mind becomes programmed in that direction, and that’s the direction your life will go. Philippians 4:8 says, “…whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” It’s actually an exhortation to think on the Word. Spend time to meditate on God’s Word.

Whenever you’re in a challenging situation, instead of thinking about the problem, think on the Word. As you reflect or think on God’s Word, there’ll be a transformation, a transfiguration that’ll bring about a solution and permanent change. For example, it doesn’t matter that the part of town you live is in the doldrums; refuse to see yourself as a victim. Think and talk like this: “Lord, you brought me into a place of abundance” (Psalm 66:12 NIV). See that that’s where you are now — in a place of abundance, wealth, prosperity and success which are independent of the principles and economics of this world. Have this consciousness. Think, and live as a victor, for that’s who you are in Christ.

THERE’S NO SIN DATABASE

T O THE BIBLE Hebrews 8:10-12“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, “Know the Lord,” for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

(God Doesn’t Keep Any Record Of Sin)

LET’S TALK

Wednesday, May 13

Some Christians believe that God keeps a database of all the sins they’ve committed in their lives, but

that’s not true according to the Gospel (2 Corinthians 5:19). From the very moment you were born again, your past ceased to exist! 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” The Christian is a new creation, and the new creation has no past; he never existed before. The old you and everything about your earthly, natural, sinful human life have been replaced by the life and nature of God at the New Birth.

When God looks at you now, He doesn’t see a struggling “sinner saved by grace”; rather, He sees Christ, because you’re in Christ. And in Christ, you’ve been made righteous; you’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Our sins—past, present, and future—were remitted ever before we came into Christ; this was legal. But we came into the vital experience when we were born again. So, even when you remember

a past mistake and you feel bad and ask God to forgive you over and over again, He doesn’t have the record; He doesn’t remember.

Speaking to Israel, concerning this new covenant, He said, “…Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more” (Hebrews 10:17). Do you think He’d relate to us any less, considering that we’re fruits of this new covenant, established upon better promises? Christ Jesus paid the full penalty for sin in His death on the Cross. The Bible says it was necessary that Christ should suffer for our sins (Luke 24:46), and now we have His divine life in us. Hallelujah!

PROPHESY TO THE WIND TOO

T O THE BIBLE Ezekiel 37:4-5“…Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, “O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.””

(Command A Change In Your Present Circumstance)

LET’S TALK

Thursday, May 14

In a valley full of dry, scattered bones, Ezekiel, God’s prophet, was faced with a strange question from the

Lord: “Can these bones live?” It sounded utterly impossible, and so Ezekiel pushed the responsibility back to God, responding, “Lord, you alone know the answer to that.” The Lord didn’t say, “Alright Zikky, stand back and see my wonders!” Instead, He said to Ezekiel, “Prophesy to these bones,” because He needed Ezekiel’s cooperation. To prophesy means to speak words of divine revelation and potency: words that have and give life. It means you can change any hopeless situation and effect positive changes in your life, through the creative power of God’s Word on your lips.

The first thing God said would happen to the bones following Ezekiel’s prophecy was that He would cause breath to enter into them. Let’s read what happened: “So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them” (Ezekiel 37:7-8). Ezekiel did as God commanded, yet the very thing God said would happen first to the bones didn’t

happen; there was no breath in them. When Ezekiel brought this to God’s attention, He said to him, “…Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy…” (Ezekiel 37:9 KJV).

Ezekiel was to prophesy to the wind, not the bones this time around. When he did, the Bible says, “…breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army” (Ezekiel 37:10). This is so profound and instructive. Sometimes, a word of prophecy is given, and we wait for it to be fulfilled. When it doesn’t, we think the prophecy was false but we ought to ask the Lord what next to do, as Ezekiel did. He’ll show you what to do, and tell you what to say. You might just need to “Prophesy to the wind” too.

T O THE BIBLE 2 C orinthians 5:17-18“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ....”

(God Has Made Every Thing About You New)

LET’S TALK

The latter part of our opening scripture is so powerful; it says God has “…reconciled us to

Himself by Jesus Christ….” Some have only understood this from the perspective of being reconciled or made right with God in respect to our sins, but it’s much more.

To understand it better, look at it from the point of view of an accountant—reconciling and comparing records to ensure they’re correct and in agreement—he reconciles everything to have a balance. In a similar sense, everything about your life has been reconciled to ensure that the brand new and divine life that God prepared for you to have is what you actually have.

Now that you’re a new creation in Christ Jesus, everything about your life is of God. If you ever find anything that’s not from God in your life—something that hurts, binds, demeans, or limits you—rebuke it and it’ll be gone. That’s because all such things (old things) are passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17-18).

The failures, sickness, poverty, and defeats of the past are all gone. That’s what the Word says! The only things that are permissible in your life are things that “are of God.”

WALK IN DAILY POWER

T O THE BIBLE John 8:32“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

(Knowledge Of The Word Activates God’s Power)

LET’S TALK

Saturday, May 16

“Sam, how come you always have miraculous things happening with you?”

“How do you mean, Adrian? Every Christian ought to have miracles; it’s normal.”

“Yeah I know, but you seem to have them on a daily basis, while others live without them. How come?”

“It’s easy to live in miracles; they’re activated by faith and knowledge of God’s Word. So, get to know the Word.”

God’s power is activated by knowledge. 2 Peter 1:3 says, “…His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.” Proverbs 11:9 says through knowledge shall the just be delivered. They’re not only delivered from trouble, but necessarily delivered into their inheritance.

As you study and meditate on the Word, not only do you discover your inheritance in Christ, you also receive the faith to relate with, and enjoy all that God has made available to you in Him. Acts 20:32 NIV says, “…I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”

The Word has the capacity to build you up like an edifice. It doesn’t matter what the case is; there’s no such

thing as “I tried, but it didn’t work,” not with the Word. The Word works, and has power to change your life from glory to glory. However, you must know the Word, and put it to work in your personal life for it to produce results for you.

That’s the reason for the teaching of the truth of God’s Word, because when people become aware of the blessings of the Word, they’re able to embrace and walk in the reality of these blessings. The knowledge of the Word imparts faith and activates the power of the Word in your life: “…faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).

DO YOU NEED A WALKER?

T O THE BIBLE 1 C orinthians 3:21“Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours.”

(Anchors Of Faith: Go Beyond Sowing Seeds Just To Receive)

LET’S TALKAn anchor serves as a means of stability and

support. Therefore, an “anchor of faith” is that which you connect your faith to when releasing your faith. It provides support when you’re acting on the Word about something you desire from God, for yourself or for someone else. The faith-walk or the faith-life is like walking on water. For example, when you say, “I desire a new car or laptop,” and you sow a seed to that effect, that seed that you’ve sown for it is actually connected to your faith; it’s an anchor for your faith.

However, sowing a seed to get a particular thing on earth is the lowest level of the seed-faith walk in God’s prosperity system. It’s okay to start out from there as a good anchor for your faith. It’s like teaching a baby to walk, and you give that child a baby walker to use. The child rests on that walker and pushes it around, leaning on it to walk. That’s what sowing a seed to get something does for you, but you don’t have to remain there. If all you know and practise is to sow a seed when you need something from God, then something is wrong.

If you have to sow a seed for everything that you need, why then did Jesus come? What then is the purpose of our inheritance in Him? There’s absolutely nothing in this world

that’s not covered by the provisions of Christ. That’s why the Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, wrote to the Church, saying, “…all things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21). There’s nothing in this world that you need to reproduce in any other way for it to become yours; all things are yours already.

2 Peter 1:3 declares, “As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.” Therefore, give, and sow seeds as fruits of your righteousness (2 Corinthians 9:10), recognising that you’ve been brought into the place of superabundance; that’s the higher level. It means walking in your consciousness of the divine nature.

IT’S DEVOTION, NOT A PRICE

T O THE BIBLE Romans 5:7-8 NIV“Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

(No More Price Or Sacrifice To Pay In Christ)

LET’S TALK

Monday, May 18

Think about this: God said to Abraham in Genesis 12:2, “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you

and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.” This was simply God’s choice. Abraham didn’t do anything to impress God first before God chose to make him great. The Lord said this to him even before he believed, and his believing was accounted for righteousness. No more sacrifice is required for you to walk in, and manifest the glory of God.

Coming over to the New Testament, it’s the same thing; it’s about Christ and all that He’s already accomplished for us. It’s not about our works. Yet some Christians believe they have to “pay a price” to get God’s approval, attain certain blessings or get to certain heights in their lives, but it doesn’t work that way. Some even have the notion that praying and fasting is a form of price to be paid to experience a greater measure of the anointing, but that isn’t right.

Prayer and fasting is for devotional purpose. If you’re planning on paying a price for the anointing or anything for which Jesus already died, then you don’t believe what Jesus already paid was enough. The Bible says it’s “not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:9 NIV). Colossians

1:12 says, “Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light” (NIV). What a marvel this is!

We couldn’t qualify by ourselves to become heirs of God and partakers of the divine nature. Neither your good works nor your self-righteousness was good enough to qualify you for the divine heritage you have in Christ. Therefore, there’s no need striving or struggling to be good enough for God. Simply accept all that Jesus did for you. He paid the price for you to have, and enjoy all things that pertain to life and godliness. Therefore, live in His glory. Hallelujah!

USE YOUR KINGSHIP

T O THE BIBLE Revelation 1:5-6“…From Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

(Reign Through Words)

LET’S TALK

Tuesday, May 19

As a Christian, the realisation that you’re actually a king, and not a helpless commoner, will completely

change the way you live. Don’t ask, “If I’m truly a king, why is life the way it is for me? Why aren’t things working out right?” Evidently, those who talk that way haven’t believed the Word; they haven’t accepted who they are. You’re a king because the Word says you are, and it’s got nothing to do with what your life experience has been up till this moment. What you need now is to practise living like a king.

Kings reign; so, start reigning. How do kings reign? They reign through words. The Bible says, “Where the word of a king is, there is power; and who may say to him, “What are you doing?” (Ecclesiastes 8:4). Decide that you’re always going to walk, talk, pray and live like a king. It begins with your mentality. Look into the mirror and tell the person on the other side of the mirror, “You’re a king; rule and reign as one!” One thing is sure: Kings exercise dominion and authority. The most beautiful part is that your authority as a king is that of the Lord Jesus; He’s the One that made you a king.

Therefore, you have every right to exercise dominion, and “king” over the devil and the forces of life. Refuse the low or ordinary life. If, for instance, you’ve been having a challenge of funding for college tuition, it’s about time you said to yourself, “It’s not right for a king to be penniless!” Then start speaking words that’ll create the kind of funds that you want. As you do, these words will cause you to take actions that are necessary, position you, and create the right conditions and circumstances for the fulfilment of your desires, through the power of the Spirit. There’s power in your mouth; there’s dominion in your tongue; reign and rule as a king in life, with kingly words.

(You’re Loaded With Everything You’ll Ever Need)

LET’S TALK

Wednesday, May 20

When a seed is planted, it sprouts, develops a stem, branches, leaves, and eventually, fruits.

Question: Where did the stem, leaves, branches and fruits come from? They all came from that little seed! Everything the seed needed to have a normal plant-life, to become a big tree and to reproduce fruits with seeds in them, was in it. All the seed needed was just to be in the right environment.

Being born again, you’re like that little seed, loaded with everything you’ll ever need for growth and success in life. God has given you everything that pertains to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3-4). He’s already done it! You have within you everything you require for an excellent, triumphant, and balanced life. All you’ll be, and have, is in your spirit. Therefore, what you need is to be in the right environment, where you can build the inner you, and hear the right things to help you think the right thoughts, and speak the right words.

This is super important because if you hear the wrong things, you’ll say the wrong words and the result would be the wrong fruits showing up in your life, instead of fruits of righteousness. Here’s the connection: God has given you everything, but the Spirit of God teaches and helps you know

the things which God has given you freely in the spirit. You must learn to speak them, as the Spirit gives you utterance in divine wisdom (Read 1 Corinthians 2:12-13). PRAY IN THE SPIRIT

LET’S TALK

Thursday, May 21

“Lord, it’s so amazing that I now love to pray, ever since I received your Spirit to live inside me,” Yosef

said, as he lifted his hands to begin praying in tongues. Since he received the Holy Spirit, he enjoyed praying in tongues, because he could freely express himself to the Lord, with no one else listening in! You see, no matter how beautiful your words are in your earthly language, and how loaded with revelation they are, they’re no match for the pure language of the Spirit. Our human earthly vocabulary isn’t pure enough to talk with the Holy God that our heavenly Father is. That’s the reason the Holy Spirit gave us a language, pure and holy, with which to communicate in a way that’s acceptable to God: praying in other tongues.

Many only know how to pray in their understanding; that is, in their native language, but that won’t take you far enough. It’s for this reason that Paul, by the Spirit, wrote the words we read in the latter part of our opening verse. Praying with the spirit always comes before praying with the understanding. However, some Christians would rather pray with their understanding first and then pray with the spirit, if they do pray in the spirit at all. They’ve made praying with the

And praying with the spirit doesn’t mean shutting your eyes and being mute, hoping that, somehow, God is looking into your sincere heart to know what you want; no. It means praying in tongues; praying in the divinely-coded language of the Spirit. Your mind can’t interpret what you’re saying, but in the realm of the spirit, you’re speaking mysteries. WORD SCOPE

Passion may simply be defined as a strong feeling of emotion for a person or a cause. David was a classic example of one who had a strong passion for God. In Act 13:22, God Himself said: “I’ve searched the land and found this David, son of Jesse. He’s a man whose heart beats to my heart, a man who will do what I tell him” (MSG).

When David became the king of Israel, he said, “I sit in this luxurious palace, but the tabernacle of God sits under a tent” (1 Chronicles 17:1 paraphrased). At that point, he determined to build God a house. As Christians today, Christ is our passion; He’s our song, for He’s made us alive to God through His death and glorious resurrection, and He’s empowered us to preach the same Gospel to the whole world. This is our passion!

Remember, passion is like fire that must be fueled; otherwise it will die. You fuel the fire of the Gospel by sharing it again and again with those who haven’t yet received Jesus, and also with folks of like passion – those who are equally fired up in their spirits for the Gospel.

BE COOL AND LOVE PEOPLE

T O THE BIBLE Luke 6:28 MSG“...Love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer for that person.”

(Refuse To Be Offended By Those In Your World)

LET’S TALK

Friday, May 22

You should never find yourself offended or losing your cool over the unpleasant attitudes of others

towards you. It makes no difference if they tease, wind you up, mistreat or take undue advantage of you; maintain the right attitude of love. Someone else’s bad attitude should never change your good behaviour. If anyone has a bad attitude, that’s their problem, but your responsibility is to walk in love towards all.

There shouldn’t ever be people or someone you don’t like or decide never to talk to, irrespective of what they may have done to you. The Word tells us to “…not merely desire peaceful relations with God, with your fellowmen, and with yourself, but pursue, go after them!” (1 Peter 3:11 AMPC). God never promised that we’ll be well treated by everybody. You may not be treated right; you may not be treated the way you want or think you deserve to be treated; that’s not what’s important!

What’s important is your response in whatever circumstances you find yourself; that’s where the blessing really is. Always emulate Jesus. He said, “Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you” (Luke 6:28). He

Keep walking in love. Let that be something you decide to do more than ever before. Always remember that, irrespective of how you’re treated, you can never be disadvantaged (Romans 8:28). LET’S TALK

Saturday, May 23

If you find yourself with the opportunity to preach the Gospel in any capacity, whether to a large crowd

or to a few people, you should be glad and count yourself tremendously blessed, because it’s a great privilege and honour. God gave you this privilege of changing the world as His partner in soul-winning. He didn’t give the charge of soul-winning to angels; He gave it to you and me; He committed it to our trust. Those who haven’t understood this—those who haven’t caught this vision and fire—are the ones who still need to be counselled to win souls.

Like Paul, we all must personalise this and make it our life’s work (1 Timothy 1:11). You’ve been given the opportunity to serve in the Gospel, to bless and transform lives with the news of His saving power; maximise it. In John 14:15, Jesus said, “If you love me, show it by doing what I’ve told you” (MSG). If you truly love Jesus, the Lord of your life, be compelled to preach the Gospel as He’s told you to.

He wants us to preach the Gospel and teach it to all nations, and every creature. What does that mean to you? It means a life on the go with the Word! Hallelujah! You’re not stopping until everyone, everywhere has had the opportunity

The words of Jesus are truly life-giving words. His words are full of power, bringing the dead back to life (John 11:43-44), causing the blind to see (Matthew 9:27-30), and making the paralysed active again (John 5:2-9).

His words appealed to every class with solutions to their pains and miseries. No one truly heard Him and remained the same. When you study His speech, His communication, you have to come to one of two conclusions: He’s either God or was insane. But if He were insane, then insanity becomes wisdom, because His words were too consistent, too powerful, too gracious, too loving, and too divine to be insane.

He spoke with such audacity and power that challenged the most erudite and authoritative minds. When some officers were sent to arrest Him, rather than arrest Jesus, they were “arrested” by His words. They were so captivated by His teachings that they forgot their mission (John 7:46 AMPC).

What did He say of Himself? Remember, as He is, so are we in this world. For example, He said, “I and my Father are one” (John 10:30); see yourself the same way and speak accordingly. Study His words for yourself, because the revelation of Jesus is actually the revelation of the new creation. He said, “…search the Scriptures... the Scriptures point to me!” (John 5:39 TLB). IT’S BEEN ACCOMPLISHED

T O THE BIBLE Hebrews 4:3“For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, “They shall not enter My rest,”” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.”

(The Lord Has Finished It All Already)

LET’S TALK

Are you aware that in Christ, God has done all that He’s ever meant to do for you? What’s left is for

you to discover these things and walk in the light of them. We may say to someone, “God is going to heal you today,” or “The Lord will do a new thing in your life”; that’s for the spiritual baby in Christ. God, in essence, isn’t going to “heal you today” or do anything for you today, because He’s already done everything for you in Christ Jesus. He healed you on the Cross.

You might say, “But yesterday, I felt a sharp pain in my chest; I prayed and God healed me.” He didn’t heal you yesterday. You only appropriated yesterday, what He already did for you in Christ over two thousand years ago. You tapped into something He already did. God’s not working on your case in heaven; He’s sitting, waiting till His enemies become His footstool. That’s what the Bible says: He finished all the work, and today, He’s at rest.

What did Jesus say on the cross, before His death? “It is finished” (John 19:30)! He accomplished everything necessary to bring you out of any and every predicament, and catapulted you into the life of glory. He’s done all that

was needed to put an end to suffering for all of humanity. No matter what you may be going through right now, Jesus has settled it all for you.

Stop praying and expecting God to “do something,” and bring about the changes you desire; the power for change is within you. The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 17:20 RSV, “…If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.” Thus, with the Word of God on your lips and the power of the Holy Spirit, there’s nothing you can’t handle in this world.

ARE YOU EATING?

T O THE BIBLE Galatians 4:1-2 TLB“...Remember this, that if a father dies and leaves great wealth for his little son, that child is not much better off than a slave until he grows up, even though he actually owns everything his father had. He has to do what his guardians and managers tell him to until he reaches whatever age his father set.”

(Grow And Prosper By The Word)

LET’S TALK

Tuesday, May 26

As a child of God, you must eat and feed your spirit with the Word, for that’s the only way to grow

spiritually. You must have a consistent and instinctive desire for God’s Word. Apostle Peter says, “Like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation” (1 Peter 2:2 NASB). The life in you is the life of the Word, and can only be sustained by the Word.

The Word has the unique characteristic and ability to grow mightily and prevail, irrespective of the situation or condition (Acts 19:20). So when you consciously imbibe the Word for your health, finances, schoolwork, and other areas of your life, there’ll be progress against all odds. Acts 20:32 says the Word is able to build you up, and deliver your inheritance into your hands.

Recall what we read in our opening scripture: “Now I say, as long as the heir is a child, he does not differ at all from a slave although he is owner of everything, but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by the father” (Galatians 4:1-2 NASB).

An heir is someone with an inheritance. But as long as that heir is a child (Greek: “nepios”), he’s not different from a servant; he can’t enjoy his inheritance. A “nepios” is someone who’s unable to talk right or communicate wisely. Someone could have been forty years in Christianity and still be a “nepios.” He has an awesome inheritance; all the blessings of God belong to him, yet he’s suffering through life (Hosea 4:6). Don’t live that way! The life God has given you in Christ is that of great glory and excellence, where you prosper in all things, through His Word.

THE OLD VS. THE NEW

T O THE BIBLE Romans 6:6-7“Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin.”

(You’ve Become A New Creation In Christ Jesus)

was no obvious change in her: “I still look the same way and I don’t feel any different; why then did Alan tell me that I would be a new person after giving my heart to Christ?” Then she heard a little still small voice in her heart, which said, “You are…My daughter, you are a new creation; you may not feel like it, but you are! Study the Bible to see your true self!”

That experience got her studying the Word and knowing more of what the Lord Jesus had done for her salvation. The only way you can tell what Jesus did for you is by studying the Word. If you read Ephesians 2:4-6, you‘ll see that, “…God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” When Jesus died, we died with Him. When He was buried, we were buried with Him. When God raised Him from the dead, we were raised together with Him. We were in Him in His death, burial, and resurrection.

Romans 4:24-25 shows us: “…Jesus our Lord…was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because

of our justification.” We were justified, not because He died but by His being raised from the dead. He was raised from the dead, a new person; He was born again. So today, Jesus heads up the new creation. The Bible says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). This new creation has no past; there’s no sin in him. Jesus’ resurrection gave you a brand-new life. You’re not the one that sinned; that’s the “old you,” and he’s dead. Hallelujah! A new you was born at the resurrection. Glory to God!

WHAT IS GOD’S LOVE?

T O THE BIBLE John 3:16 TLB

(Understand Your Heavenly Father’s Love)

LET’S TALK

Thursday, May 28

What is love? It’s that endearing value of a person that gives you a sense of his or her importance to

you as the object of your favour. 1 John 3:1 says, “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.” The word, “bestowed” also means “lavished”; the Father has lavished His love on you. It’s love without limits.

Think about it: we who shouldn’t have been known of God, who shouldn’t have ever come close to God are now, as a result of the superabundant love He’s lavished upon us, accepted of Him. Therefore, that God loves you means you’re special and valuable to Him. This understanding will change your life and give you an extraordinary mentality.

Consider a man like David, who had a unique perception of the love of God; his understanding of the Father’s love made him think differently. In Psalm 23:1 (TLB) for example, he said, “Because the Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need!” This alone lets you know what David thought about God, for which reason he was such a success, and his life, so victorious! He knew he was valuable to God, and the object of His favour.

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Always take out time to meditate on God’s love. Think about His grace, kindness and the fact that if you were the only one on earth, the Lord Jesus would still have given His life for you. That’s how valuable you are to God. Dare to believe this and let it sink deep into your consciousness; it’ll change your life forever and give you a new confidence.

God loves you just the way you are. You didn’t have to impress Him to get His love or approval, for you could never earn it by your own actions, but by grace. He chose to love you. All you have to do is accept His love as simply as it has come to you, and be conscious of His love for you always.

BE GOD’S LIGHTHOUSE

T O THE BIBLE Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

(Let Your Light “So” Shine)

LET’S TALK

Friday, May 29

If the Master had only said, “Let your light shine before men…,” that would have been beautiful, but

He emphasised the intensity by including the adverb, “so.” He wants you to shine with blazing intensity. He wants men to see your good works and glorify your heavenly Father. Notice that He didn’t say, “I’m going to make your light so shine”; rather, you’re the one to make it happen! Even Isaiah didn’t allude that God is the one to make your light shine”; he said, “Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you” (Isaiah 60:1). You’re the one to arise and shine!

It’s like what we read in Romans 12:11 (AMPC): “Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.” Again, we observe that the responsibility is yours to fan your fire and excitement aglow. God is telling you what you can do. If you couldn’t be aglow and burning with the Spirit, He wouldn’t ask you to do it. He’s telling you to do it because He’s given you the power, the ability, to do it. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of

the world….” Your response should be, “Yes, Lord, I’m a light in a dark world, and my light shines everywhere.” Act on the Word. Act on that idea God has placed in your heart, and bring God’s vision to pass!

STOP THE SACRIFICING!

T O THE BIBLE Genesis 22:18“In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

(Jesus Christ Is The End To All Penance)

LET’S TALK

Saturday, May 30

In some parts of the world, there’re certain religions where people punish themselves for their sins; they

whip themselves and lacerate their skin as penance for their sins. In some instances, the people are laid on a platform with protruding nails, piercing through their flesh with blood gushing out. They believe this would be enough payment for their sins. How sad! Oh, that the world would know Jesus and all that He accomplished for humanity!

Jesus ended all of such penance. In the Old Testament, every year, the priest had to atone for the sins of the nation of Israel; an animal had to be killed on behalf of the people. The priest will lay his hands on the animal and confess the sins of the nation upon it; this was a yearly routine. Think about that! But over in the New Testament, the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ was God’s spiritual Lamb and He didn’t just take the sins of Israel, but the sins of the whole world (John 1:29).

He was God’s perfect sacrifice that settled the problem of sin forever. Today, no one needs to kill any animal in atonement for sin. Hebrews 7:26-27 TLB says Jesus, “…is, therefore, exactly the kind of High Priest we need; for he is holy and blameless, unstained by sin, undefiled by sinners, and to him has been given the place of honor in heaven. He never

needs the daily blood of animal sacrifices, as other priests did, to cover over first their own sins and then the sins of the people; for he finished all sacrifices, once and for all, when he sacrificed himself on the cross.”

The Bible says there remains no more sacrifice for sin (Hebrews 10:26). You don’t need to go through self-torture or self-recrimination because of your sins; Jesus already paid the full penalty for the sins of all men. This is the message of the Gospel! Christ Jesus paid it all! God isn’t counting or holding your sins against you, because of Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:19). Jesus already bore the punishment and consequences for all your sins. Therefore, serve Him with your life.

JESUS ISETERNAL LIFE

T O THE BIBLE John 5:26 AMP C“For even as the Father has life in Himself and is self-existent, so He has given to the Son to have life in Himself and be self-existent.”

(He’s The Very Life Of God)

LET’S TALK

Sunday, May 31

The Lord Jesus, in our opening verse, declared that He had the same kind of life as the Father does.

Notice the progression of truth as He brought His disciples to the understanding of who He really was. First, He said to them, “I have life in me, just as the Father does; inherent and self-existent life.” Next, in John 14:6 AMPC, He said, “…I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.”

Notice the definite article, the Life! With those words, He meant, “I am Deity”; and He was right. While the disciples were still grappling with that thought, Jesus took them another step further. He said, “Anyone who has seen me, has seen the Father and doesn’t need to keep searching for the Father” (John 14:9). How true! When you find Jesus, and accept Him as your Lord, your search is over. He’s the way, and also the destination. Think about these blessed words of Jesus about Himself! How do you explain them?

He goes from saying, “As the Father has life in Himself, so He has given to the son to have life in Himself,” to saying,

Page 77: CHRIS OYAKHILOME · 2020-05-17 · pastor chris says 5 miracles aren’t difficult 6 more and more love 8 greater than any syrup 10 hope hasn’t been lost 12 don’t sweat it! 14

“I am that life!” Recall the words of His prayer in John 17:2-3; He said, “As You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” If He is “the life” or “life eternal,” then He’s indeed the very essence of life. Glory to His Name forever!
