Chris Broyden is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Financial IndustryAdvisory Services in London. He leads the European Performance Improvementteam and brings 35 years of broad-based experience in the financial sector,both in an advisory capacity and in a variety of senior line roles in globalfinancial services institutions. Mr. Broyden specializes in planning and leadingcomplex technology and operational transformation programmes at largefinancial institutions.

Currently, Mr. Broyden is leading the A&M teams working at IFAD, a UN agency andinternational fund, on Business Process Re-Engineering (BPR) and capital adequacy projects.

Mr. Broyden’s previous notable assignments include: leading the assessment andimprovement recommendations of a multi £100 million technology and business processoutsourcing; negotiating the deal for a new technology partner, which optimised the interestsof the client; managing and negotiating an IT infrastructure deal with a third party provider;acting as Head of Change Management for the Board of a UK online brokerage by managingand coordinating a broad programme of change initiatives relating to technology, riskmanagement, regulatory remediation, process improvement, and organisational and culturalchange; conducting various technology and operations due diligence assignments for PEbacked acquisitions of a UK and European brokerage, wealth management and mortgagecompany.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Broyden worked in the technology division of Société GénéraleCorporate and Investment Bank, where he served as the Global COO. In this role, he managedthe IT components of the firm’s three year transformation programme and was responsible forthe finances, resource management, and overall programme and project management for thedivision.

Previously, Mr. Broyden spent four years at Barclays Capital, where he held a number of seniorpositions as a member of the Global IT Executive Committee, including global Head of BusinessContinuity and Head of Barclays Group Technology Sourcing. He began his career as amanagement consultant in the financial services practice of Andersen Consulting (nowAccenture) in London, and later became an equity partner.
