Each year, singers from around the region gather for the New Brunswick Choral Federation’s Choral Fest to rehearse and perform a significant work of choral music under one of Can-ada’s leading conductors.

This year Haydn’s Missa Brevis in F and Bob Chilcott’s Missa Cantate will be the featured works.

Registration and Music loan ~ The registration fee for Choral Fest includes all rehearsals, refreshment breaks, and a Saturday evening reception. Music loan/purchase requires a separate payment.

MICHAEL ZAUGG,

Conductor

Swiss-Canadian conductor Michael Zaugg is known for his innovative programming and for the diverse, colourful sound of his choirs. He is Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of one of Canada’s foremost professional choirs, Pro Coro Can-ada, based in Edmonton, Alberta.

Michael first established his Canadian career in Montreal, as Artistic Director of the the Cantata Singers of Ottawa (2005-2014), the St. Lawrence Choir (2008-2013), and as founder of the Montreal Choral Institute (2009). As Chorus Master of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (2006-2011), Mi-chael successfully prepared groups of up to 1500 singers for OSM Artistic Director Kent Nagano.

Also active as a Guest Conductor, Michael Zaugg has worked with Canadian groups including Halifax Camerata, Vancou-ver musica intima, the Nova Scotia and Ontario Youth Choirs, Thirteen Strings and the Longueuil Symphony Orchestra. Mi-chael made his US debut in 2014 with the Grammy-nominated Choir of Trinity Wall Street in New York, and he will direct the National Youth Choir of Canada in 2016.

Michael Zaugg was the first Swiss conductor to be accepted to the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, Sweden, in its prestigious post-graduate Diploma for Professional Choir Con-ducting.

Originally an accomplished tenor, Michael Zaugg toured Europe and Asia with professional groups including the Swiss Chamber Choir, the Chamber Choir of Europe, the World Chamber Choir, the World Youth Choir and the Stockholm Chamber Choir.
