TEST
“Test; test; this is a test.” The Lord tries us out, even tantalizes us, before choosing to work with us. God did this with Abraham, with Peter, James and John, even with Jesus! But Jesus, God’s own Son, “stands and pleads for us now” that we not be “led into temptation or put to the test beyond our means…. God is on our side and who now can be against us?” With the Trinity’s prompting and our willing obedience during this Lent, we can come closer to salvation
Prueba
“Probando, probando… probando”. From the Desk of Father Kurt In the Gospel for this Sunday, James, John and Peter are given a foretaste of the joy of heaven through their witnessing Jesus being transfigured before their eyes. Just over two years ago I was on top of that very mountain. The vision from its summit was beautiful. For the Apostles of Jesus the experience of his transfiguration was a consolation to them as they suffer witnessing the brutal execution of their master. Often times I refer to this scripture passage when I try to explain why sometimes in our lives we feel a strong presence of God’s love, but other times it seems that he is no where to be found.
Like the disciples in the Gospel after a deep experience of God’s love, through a retreat or other activity, we have to go down the mountain, back to ordinary life where God’s presence is not so easily found. Dry times in prayer or periods of doubt are not necessarily due to the fact that God has abandoned us, but rather, opportunities for us to be drawn deeper into faith. Lent can be such a time for us, let us trust that God is with us even when he is silent and although He might be silent, he will give us his peace. A peace that this world will not be able take away.
Love in Christ Father Kurt Farrell

It has been discussed for several years the need to make the current choir space more flexible for the various music groups who use the space: Adult choir, youth orchestra, Hispanic Choir, Bell choir etc. This idea has been reviewed by our Liturgy Committee, Hispanic Council, and Parish Council and has the approval to begin to plan the project. With that in mind, we are seeking willing talented
volunteers who are able to help bring this idea to reality. If you have talents as a space planner or carpenter we need you. We will also need people from those who are able to help do the work once the design is worked out – including the removal of the heavy wooden pews.
If you are interested in sharing your wonderful talents please send your name and talent by email to: [email protected] or call the Parish Office at (507)373-0603.

Welcome: Last week we welcomed two new members into the body of Christ through the sacrament of baptism.
