Day 1-2**Nov 02-03 Honolulu – Shanghai We start our vacation by boarding an international flight bound for Shanghai, the most populous city in China. Due to its rapid growth in the last two decades, it has again become a global city, exerting influence over finance, commerce, fashion, and culture. Meals and snacks will be served on the plane. *** Meet at night at the airport on Nov 2 for our midnight flight. ***

Day 3**Nov 04 Shanghai We arrive at Shanghai Pudong International Airport via Beijing. An Air & Sea Travel representative will greet us and escort us to our hotel. After lunch, we can explore the city or enjoy free time.

Day 4**Nov 05 Shanghai – Suzhou – ShanghaiWe will have a day trip to Suzhou. The city has over 2,500 years of rich history and relics of the past are abundant to this day. Upon arrival, we will visit the Lingering Garden, the best garden in Suzhou as well as one of the four most famous gardens in China. In 1997, this garden, along with other classical gardens in Suzhou, were recorded as UNESCO WorldHeritage Sites. Then we will take a Boat Ride to explore the Grand Canal which is second only to the Great Wall as an ancient Chinese engineering feat. It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. Because Suzhou is famous for its delicate and smooth silk and embroidery, we have arranged for a visit to a Silk Factory to learn about the process from silkworm chrysalis to fabric. Transfer back to Shanghai and stay overnight.

Day 5**Nov 06 ShanghaiThe Bund is the Landmark of Shanghai, with many historical buildings along the river. All these buildings were used for government organizations a few years back. Now, there are many restaurants, bars, clubs and boutiques in them. This morning, we will explore the Special Economic Zone of Pudong and walk along the East Side of Huangpu River with memorable views of the Bund and PuDong (the new financial district). After enjoying our first Dim Sum Meal in China, we will visit the Yuyuan Garden, a famous classic garden in the architectural style of the Ming dynasty. It is peaceful and beautiful throughout the year. Take some time to wander along the narrow paths, ponds, and bridges. After exiting the garden, we will be at the entrance to the Bazaar or Open Market at the City God Temple. We can enjoy shopping for souvenirs or checking out food shops. After visiting a Chinese Tea House, we will enjoy a Chinese Acrobatic Show, ERA. Their death-defying acrobatic acts are excellent and should top other shows you may have seen. This 90 minute show with extremely skillful performers is one of the must-do-things or highlights in Shanghai.

Day 6**Nov 07 Shanghai – Xi’anIn the morning, board a flight to Xi’an, one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. Xi’an held that position under several of the most important dynasties in Chinese history. We will visit the City Wall - one of the few ancient city walls still standing in China. It refers to a defensive system used to protect towns and cities in China in pre-modern times. The system consisted of walls, towers, and gates which were often built to a uniform standard throughout the Empire. Enjoy the Local Cuisine that includes Dumplings or Jiaozi. It is commonly eaten and considered part of Chinese Cuisine. Jiaozi typically consists of a ground meat and/or vegetable filling wrapped in a thinly rolled piece of dough and then sealed by pressing the edges together or by crimping. Common meat fillings are pork, mutton, beef, chicken, fish, and shrimp, and is usually mixed with chopped vegetables. Popular vegetable fillings include Napa cabbage, scallion (spring onions), leek, celery and garlic chives. Dumplings are eaten with a soy sauce-based dipping sauce that may include vinegar, garlic, ginger, rice wine, hot sauce, and sesame oil. After dinner, we will sit and enjoy the breeze at the Northern Square of Dayan Pagoda.

Day 7**Nov 08 Xi’anIn the morning, we will visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the most exciting archaeological finds of the 20th Century – the Terracotta Warriors. The Terracotta Army or the "Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses" is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210–209 BC and whose purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife. Archeologists estimate there were over 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses, the majority of which are still buried in the pits. For souvenirs, we will visit the Reproduction Factory. Then we will transfer to Muslim Street lined with various restaurants and stalls, some specializing in cakes, dried fruit, and snacks. The most famous dishes of Xi’an are available on Muslim Street, including Marinated Meat in a Baked Bun, Pita Bread Soaked in Lamb Soup, Bean Threads in Shaanxi Flavoring, and Xi’an Dumplings. Tonight, let’s enjoy a Hot Pot Dinner.

Day 8**Nov 09 Xi’an – BeijingIn the morning, we take a short flight to Beijing, the capital of China and an ancient city of great splendor. Upon arrival, we will visit the Temple of Heaven, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is widely regarded as the noblest example of religious architecture in all of China. This site is where emperors came to worship heaven for a bountiful harvest. The design shows that the heaven is high and the earth is low and reflects an ancient Chinese saying: 'the heaven is round and the earth is square'. Tonight’s dinner features China’s famous Peking Duck, a dish that has been prepared since the imperial era. The meat is prized for its thin, crisp skin, with authentic versions of the dish serving mostly the skin and little meat, sliced in front of the diners by the cook. Ducks bred specially for this dish are slaughtered after 65 days and seasoned before being roasted. The meat, scallions, cucumbers, and a sweet bean sauce are wrapped in a thin pancake before eating it. Sometimes pickled radish and other sauces (like hoisin sauce) can be used. In 2012, The Huffington Post ranked Peking duck number 1 in its list of "10 Foods Around The World To Try Before You Die".

Day 9**Nov 10 BeijingToday’s highlight is the fabled Great Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a massive defensive structure built to keep intruders out. China has many things to see, but the one great wonder is the Great Wall. We will learn about its construction 2,000 years ago, and examine first-hand one of the most scenic portions of its 5,500-mile length. The Great Wall is 25 feet tall, 15-30 feet wide and is the largest object ever made by humans. The view is awesome! If time is permitted, we will see the exterior of two iconic venues of the 2008 Olympics – the "Bird's Nest" (Beijing National Stadium) and the "Water Cube" (National Aquatics Center) where American Michael Phelps won 8 gold medals. Then, we will visit a Jade Workshop where we will learn about Chinese jade culture. Next stop is the Silk Alley Market which offers inexpensive goods and a unique Chinese shopping experience that involves bargaining.

Day 10 **Nov 11 BeijingThis morning, we will walk around Tiananmen Square, probably the largest and most magnificent public square in the world. We will then explore the Forbidden City, the largest and most well-preserved imperial palace and also a UNESCOWorld Heritage Site. This vast and exotic palace was brilliantly captured in the movie “The Last Emperor”. It was the seat of supreme power for over five centuries from 1416 to 1911. The Forbidden City with its landscaped gardens and numerous buildings with nearly 10,000 rooms containing furniture and works of art constitutes a priceless testimony to Chinese civilization during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Today, we will have a meal at a special restaurant known for its Buddhist Vegetarian Meal: mock meats and seafood all cleverly created from variations of bean curd. Let’s give it a try. Afterwards, enjoy a visit to a Fresh-Water Pearl Shop. Next stop is Wangfujing Street, a large shopping street with lots of restaurants. We may not be accustomed to the non-western style of shopping here, but it is fun to browse. We will have our Farewell Dinner tonight.

Day 11 **Nov 12 Beijing – HonoluluOur flight to Honolulu leaves after midnight, ending our wonderful tour in China. We arrive at Honolulu on Nov 11 at approximately 4:30PM.

Within 70 days before departure, the cancellation fee will be as follow:** 69-31 days prior to departure, 50% of total price plus any other service fee caused from the cancellation;

** 30 days prior to departure or withdrawing during the tour shall be regarded as willingly giving up all rights concerned, 100% of total price, and request for other services as a substitute shall not be accepted.
