Chilliwack Arts & Cultural Centre Society presents ANASTASIA Celebrating the 100th anniversary of an incredibly magical story, Ballet Jörgen brings the tale of Grand Duchess Anastasia to the stage. Anastasia is both the tragic story of an innocent girl and the subject of modern mythology, as there is great speculation about what actually happened that fateful summer of 1918. The story that follows the daughter of the fallen Russian Tsar through the ballrooms of St. Petersburg, to the Russian Revolution, to captivity, and into the heart of the tragic mystery; is perfectly combined with fantastic choreography created by Artistic Director Bengt Jörgen, and an original full orchestra score by Russian/Canadian composer Ivan Barbotin. The ballet explores the emotions, aspirations, and affections of the lovable yet controversial Anastasia, as the world transforms around her, pulling the audience into her captivating story.
