Children’s Day Celebration

Dear Members,Warm personal greetings for the festive season.October was exciting month for more than one reason. Dussehra Eve was celebrated with great fervor.Jubilee Deck wore a bridal look and it was jam packed with over 400 members enthusiastically participatedplaying Dhandia, Garbha etc. This Vijaya Dasami is literally a Vijayam for the Club. The Darkness surround-ing the issue of Registration under Companies Act has been dispelled.Members will recall that though our club was registered as a Company in the name and style of THEWALTAIR CLUB in the year 1904 under Companies Act of 1882, unfortunately the provisions of CompaniesAct have not been complied with for several years for various reasons with the result our Club name is notfound in the portal of Ministry of Company affairs and therefore the very existence of our Club identity was in jeopardy. Theprevious Managing Committee noticed this anomaly as very serious and brought to my notice when I was elected unanimouslyeven before elections in the month of June, 2015 with a request to attend to this problem. When we took over on 1st July, 2015, we took it as a Mission to regularize the compliance under Companies Act and to createMaster Data of our Club in the office of Registrar of Companies. After 4 months of continuous and sustained efforts, we were ableto track down the ancient records of the Registration of our club. On the strength of available records and after considering oursubmission, the Registrar of Companies has now updated our records on the 27th October, 2015. The Registration of THEWALTAIR CLUB and Master Data with Registrar of Companies is now complete and is available in the public domain. This was a formidable challenge and we were conscious of it. There have been several threats and infact some vested intereststried to obstruct our initiative and they have only fortified our resolve. It has shown that if we work unitedly with a sincerity ofpurpose, we can achieve any goal, however, lofty in may be. This was a great achievement for the Club and I place on record myappreciation for my team and all those who contributed to this effort.Let us, therefore, celebrate DIWALI - the festival of lights even with great fervor.☺ Have a good month ahead

The event witnessed unprecedented demand from the club with over 100 registrations, with interested members rangingfrom toddlers to 'young-at-heart' ladies who brought immense energy to the gathering. At a nominal charge of Rs 100 per member, all theparticipants came together briefly each evening to strike their Dandiya sticks in rhythm to the music in the Yoga Hall.Despite having to set-up three one-hour batches each evening, there remained a constant sense of bonding, joy, and laughter in theair as the participants gracefully twirled the colourful sticks in hand to the festive music. The ladies also put their fresh Garbha andDandiya lessons to work, by putting on a spectacular performance during the Dusshera function in the club
