WHO AM I?• Mrs. Sullivan RD
– Registered Dietitian for 16 years, teacher for the last 6 years
– Married with 2 kids– Still work as an dietitian 1-2 days a
month at JFK Medical Center– Like to work out, and hang out with my
children. Like to play on the computer.– Hate cell phones and most reality
television.

PROCEDURE FOR ENTERING THE CLASSROOM
•All students are to immediately report to the office after homeroom/Block A to be escorted to the Central School.– If you are late you will be assigned a detention
–More than 3 lates will result in a decrease in overall grade (1 point per three lates).
COURTEOUS/RESPECTFUL
•Block B students will need to leave there block B class a few minutes early.
•They will report to the office in a timely manner and be escorted to the Central School.
–Begin work on “DO NOW” immediately
–Do nows are timed so begin immediately!

•Absolutely NO Food or Drink are to be brought into the classroom.–Food will be taken and discarded and students will receive a detention
•Students are to put back packs, and purses in designated area.

•Students are to sit in assigned seats only.–No sitting on tables, counters or desks!
PROCEDURE FOR MOVING AROUND THE
ROOM
• Students are to ask permission to move around the room on class days.
• You are to ask permission to sharpen pencils or use the restroom.
• If you have something that needs to be thrown away you are to wait until the end of the class and are to walk it to the trash can.

•Only one person will be permitted to use restroom at a time.
•You will not be permitted to go to the office or guidance/SAC office during class.

•NO THROWING any items across the room!•(pens/pencils, trash, water bottles, dish towels)
•You are to remain seated until the bell rings (no waiting by the door)

FOCUS•FOCUS: Once class is told to FOCUS by teacher all students are to stop what they are doing and listen to instruction.–Students who speak during instruction are considered disruptive and will risk receiving a zero for the days assignment.
–You will have the opportunity to contribute during every class.
RESPECT/COURTESY• Students are to raise their hands in
order to speak during lecture unless called upon by teacher. Everyone will get an opportunity to contribute.
• Students are to speak to each other in a respectful manner at all times.
COMPLIANCE• Students are expected to follow all
guidelines as outlined in student handbook.
• NO Cell phones. Cell phones will be taken and you will automatically lose 15 points off your grade for the weeks lab.• I will ask for phones once and only
once. If you refuse to relinquish your phones you will receive a write-up to the office.
COMPLIANCE•NO PROFANITY
– We are working with children. Absolutely no profanity or derogatory words are to be used during class.
– No negative talk kids are very sensitive even when you are joking with another student ie–I hate you, I am going to get you etc.

No person enrolled as a student of an elementary or secondary school, knowingly and without the express written permission of the school board, its delegated authority, or any school principal, shall bring or possess any remotely activated paging device on any property used for school purposes, at any time and regardless of whether school is in session or other persons are present.
STUDIOUS• All students are expected to make their
best effort on all assignments.• Although this is an elective class you
are still expected to complete all class work reading and writing assignments.
• I want everyone to do their personal best!

• You are responsible to get any and all missed assignments when absent or late to class.
• You must come after school to get assignments (you will not be given missed assignments in the middle of class).

• You have 3 days to get missed assignments due to absence.
• You will have 5 school days to complete assignment or you will receive a grade of a zero.
• You will not be permitted to make up work if you cut class.
DISCIPLINE• If expectations for conduct are not met
students will be assigned a detention. Detentions are served on Tues, Weds and Thurs in room 307.– Students are expected to serve
detention within 24 hours of being assigned. If you cannot make detention due to afterschool obligations……… FOLLOW EXPECTATIONS OF CONDUCT.

students will maintain a safe and sanitary environment for preschool children. ALL students are expected to participate in cleaning activities.
• Cleaning is usually considered a test grade. Students who refuse to clean will receive a zero and be required to serve a detention.

• Students are expected to sit on the carpet on the floor during circle time. You are not to sit on chairs or tables. Preschoolers respond better to adults who are down to their level. Students who refuse to sit on floor during circle time will receive a zero for the day.
