About Christian Community Credit UnionChristian Community Credit Union (CCCU) is a full-service financial institution serving members of Christian churches and ministries worldwide. With over $650M in assets and over 31,000 unique members served, CCCU is one of the largest credit unions in the country serving the Christian community. Located 30 miles east of Los Angeles in San Dimas, CA, CCCU’s passion is to expand God’s Kingdom, and their vehicle to accomplish this is partnerships with individuals and ministries that use CCCU for their banking needs. CCCU offers checking, savings, credit cards, lending, auto, student and home loans, and other services to members located in all 50 states and more than 100 foreign countries. CCCU uses its asset base to lend to individual members to help them reach their financial, education, and homeownership goals, and to ministries ooking to build churches, expand ministry capacity, obtain property, and reach out to the lost.

At a time when banks are making record profits and customers are paying ever higher fees, many people are seeking different kinds of financial institutions they can trust. As nonprofit entities that can focus on the interests of their members rather than increasing shareholder returns, credit unions offer members the unique opportunity to build their savings and leverage their resources in a relationship they can trust. Thanks to strong growth from new and existing members, and wise financial stewardship over decades, CCCU is now ranked in the top 10% of all credit unions in the United States by assets.

History

Originally established in 1957 as American Baptist Ministers Credit Union, CCCU has expanded membership eligibility over the years to serve members of many different Protestant Christian denominations and ministry networks. CCCU serves churches, ministries and their members, as well as Christian schools, colleges, seminaries, camps, rescue missions, retirement homes, and many other diverse organizations across the U.S. and around the world. In over 60 years of history, CCCU is one of the largest credit unions serving the Christian community with a simple, but powerful big idea: “Your Money Building God’s Kingdom.” From church loans to savings accounts, the Credit Union puts members’ money to work by providing affordable financing to churches, ministries, and their members. Whether it’s constructing or remodeling a new church building or funding a home loan for a member, this money is working in the Christian community. All CCCU accounts are privately insured by American Share Insurance, up to $250,000 per account.

Supporting Missions and Ministries

CCCU is committed to not only helping its members achieve their financial goals, but also to helping them support Christian ministries and missions around the globe working to share the Gospel.

Cards that Give to Missions & MinistriesCCCU’s Cards that Give to Missions & Ministries program enables credit union members to earn points to donate to missions projects every time they make a purchase with their credit card. At year-end, cardholders have the opportunity to donate their points to missions and ministry projects that are reaching out and sharing the love of Christ. Since 1995, more than $4.9 million has been donated to missions and ministry projects around the globe.

Money for Missions ProgramChristian Community Credit Union’s Money for Missions Program donates money to churches and Christian-based ministries. The program is very simple. Eligible organizations can receive a donation of $50 for every person from the church who joins the credit union with a qualifying account - the more people who join, the bigger the donation.

Community Impact:One ministry in the Midwest has received more than $100,000 from the program so far. A church in Kansas received $5,000 and used the money for a missions trip. A small church in California earned $1,000 to buy new flooring for a Sunday school room. CCCU’s Scholarships for Success Program helps students pursue their academic dreams by offering multi-year scholarship awards of $1,000 per year. Since the program’s inception in 1999, CCCU has awarded $874,500 in scholarships to students nationwide. Click here to learn more about the impact CCCU is having in the local community.

Global impact:CCCU is proud of having a truly global reach. In response to the crisis of human trafficking, CCCU donated $10,000 in a matching fund towards The Freedom Challenge for their Giving Tuesday campaign to provide women and children in Bangladesh with literacy and development
