toall-outcompetitionprofilesforLS1poweredracecars.

Crane’sLSenginefamily’sgrindsaredesignedtotakeoptimumadvantageoftheLS1/LS2/LS6’slightervalvetrainandgreatedreducedcomponentinertia.Thislowinertiaallowsextraordinarilyquickvalveaccelerationrates.Thisactuallyincreasesthe“areabeneaththeliftcurve”ineachprofile.Simplyput,theybeginmovingthevalveoffitsseatatamuchquickerrate,toinitiateearlierflow.Theprofilesretainsandlengthensthisrateofaccelerationduringthevalve-openingcycleandasitapproachesmaximumvalvelift.Theyfunctionlikeamuch“bigger”cam(greaterduration)yettheyincreaselow-endandmid-rangetorqueinthemostoftenusedrpmrange.Peakhorsepowerandtorqueoutputareenhancedthroughouttheentirerpmrange.Thevalvelifttableswerealsodesignedtominimizehorsepower-robbingharmonicfrequencypulseswhenmatchedwiththerecom-mendedCranevalvespringsandpushrods.
