DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Academic Year 2015-16Seminar presentation on BUBBLE DECK SLAB

Guided By:Mr. Tushar Rajput Presented by:Chetan k IngleRoll no: 09INTRODUCTION1.It based upon the patented integration technique.

2.Plastic balls serves for eliminating concrete has no carrying effect.

3.Which provides maximum utility to moment and shear zones.

4.Monolithic two way hollow slab is obtained.MATERIALS use 1.Hollow bubbles 2.Concret 3.Reinforcement barsDECK TYPES1.Simple bubble deck.

2.Filigree-slab bubble deck.

3.According to thickness there are 6 standard deck types.STRUCTURAL PROPERTIES AND DESIGN 1.Bending strength 2.Shear strength 3.Fire resistance 4.Sound resistanceMANUFACTURING PROCESS

ECONOMIC SAVINGS1.Savings in materials.2.Transportation costs reduced.3.Buildings are more flexile.4.Less energy consumption.5.Less emission.6.No waste generation.effects1.Weight reduction of the duck.

2.The dead load is very less.

3.Not effect on bending strength.

4.The capacity with 65% concrete.

1.It allows freedom of design with non-rectilinear plan forms. 2.Elimination of down-stand beams and bearing walls because of quicker and cheaper erection of walls and services. 3.Reduced foundation sizes because there is up to 50% less structural dead-weight. 4.Cross-bracing and intermediate supports are eliminated.

advantageDISADVANTAGE APPLICATION 1.Commercial offices including high rise 2. Hotels Buildings for storing retail and bulky goods 3. Industrial - warehouses and factories 4. Multi-unit residential buildings 5. Airports 6.Educational buildings CONCLUSION As per studies, the Bubble Deck configuration gives much improved flexural capacity, stiffness and shear capacity of at least 70% when the same amount of concrete and the same reinforcement is used as in the solid slab, realizing 30-50% concrete economy, in comparison with the solid slab. Another advantage of Bubble Deck system is the significant cost saving, because of the possibility of obtaining great spans with less support elementsREFERENCE 1.
