Introduction about organic chemistry
To understand life as we know it, we must first understand a little bit of organic chemistry . any Organic molecules contain
both carbon and hydrogen and they are in a compound are called Organic Chemistry.
Uses of Organic compounds in petroleum
Modern petroleum technology is making available not only improved products but new chemicals which make possible a better job of food production in this era of modern technology.
Uses of organic compounds in perfume industry
Perfume is a mixture of fragrant essential oils and aroma compounds, fixatives, and solvents used to give the human body, animals, objects, and living spaces a
pleasant scent.
Uses of organic compounds in food industry
Organic foods are those that are produced using environmentally sound methods that do not involve
modern synthetic inputs such as pesticides and chemical fertilizers, do not contain genetically modified organisms,
and are not processed using irradiation, industrial solvents, or chemical food additives.
Uses of organic compounds in plastic industry
Over time, plastic industry started developing on the basis of organic compounds (a material that contains carbon and
hydrogen and other elements), rather than natural and other synthetic materials.
Examples :plastic bags, plastic basins, plastic bottles, plastic bins, plastic boxes
Uses of organic compounds in pharmaceuticals
Several important types of organic compounds available and used by pharmaceuticals are alkenes, alcohols,
halogenoalkanes, acid anhydrides, amides, esters, amino acids, nitrites and carboxylic acids.
Importance of organic compounds in the human body
There are four different basic organic compounds in the human body; proteins, carbohydrates, lipids or fats, and nucleic acids. Proteins are the building blocks of the body and make up about 70% of all body compounds. Carbohydrates are important for
energy and also contribute to building connective tissues.
