17 - 102Synthesis of Tripyreno[2,3,4,-abc:2,3,4-ghi:2,3,4-mno][18]annulenes.— The synthesis and characterization of [18]annulenes which are condensedwith three pyrene ring systems are presented. In a multi-step synthesis, thepyrene building block is generated first and in the final reaction step (IX) isformed in a threefold trans selective cyclocondensation process.
