Oils
Volvo Penta oilsWe and the Volvo Group invest significant resources in developing high-performance oils. And the reason is simple. Oil quality plays a vital role to get the most out of the engine and keep the cost of ownership down. As engines continue to evolve, with increased efficiency and more precise technology, it placing greater demands on oil performance than ever before.
Genuine Volvo Penta oils are extensively tested and quality assured by Volvo Penta. They are formulated to meet the specific requirements of Volvo Penta marine and industrial engines. Genuine Volvo Penta oils include powerful additive technology which are individually selected to optimize performance, reduce fuel consumption and extend the life of the engine.
The benefits of Genuine Volvo Penta engine oils
• Meet the specific requirements of Volvo Penta engines
• Lower fuel and oil consumption due to low internal friction
• Outstanding wear protection to prolong engine life
• Effective oxidation resistance and thermal stability, even under severe conditions, to prevent sludge and deposit build
• Excellent protection against corrosion by controlling the acids formed as the fuel burns
• Improved engine cleanliness to maximize component life
Note! Please always refer to the operator’s manual for information on the recommended oil quality, oil viscosity, oil quantity and oil change interval for the specific product.

Coolants
Note! Volvo Penta provides two types of coolant: Volvo Penta coolant VCS (yellow) and Volvo Penta coolant (green). They are formulated for the specific requirements of different engine generations and contain unique additives that are not compatible. Therefore they should never be mixed. Always use the same type of Volvo Penta coolant that originally came with the engine.
Mixing data for concentrated coolants
Recommended mixture Anti-freeze protection
40% concentrated coolant -25° C
50% concentrated coolant -35° C
60% concentrated coolant -46° C
Note! Concentrated coolant should be mixed with pure distilled, deionized water or water which complies with Volvo STD 1285,1. Do not use tap water, it contains minerals that will form deposits inside the cooling system.
