Porcelain tiles are the most durable and versatile materials, with their high hardness, shine

and the lowest absorption. They are considered the modern alternative to natural Marble,

Granite and Stone. Porcelain tiles had technical and aesthetic evolution with time; their

history started as “full-body” ceramic material until modern “double load”, which may be

distinguished in two great categories: natural matt, with a non-shiny surface, more or less

processed, and polished, also squared and sometimes rectified or chamfered.

In recent years the marketing demand lead to transformations, especially in the aesthetic,

through the surface glazing, with or without the subsequent polishing (lapping), in order to

extend the offer to modern furnishing, more evolved and exacting.

Basic steps for the use are 3:

• Cleaning after installation (carried out by the professional operator)r

• Durable and renewable protection (carried out by the professional operator or by user)rr

• Ordinary cleaning of most common stains or Maintenance (carried out by user)rr

For use follow directions given in the Technical Data Sheets. On enameled tiles it is

recommended to carry out a preliminary test in order to verify compatibility with

descaling / pickling acids.

BEL CHIMICA Srl, that is the present administrator of the brand GEAL, offers advise and

technology to solve any particular problems: reduction of slipperiness, to keep this

parameter under the legal limit, removal of marking and acid attack onto the exposed face,

cleaning and protection of “craquelé” enamel.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (CRS)It is the Lab for the Applied Industrial Research of BEL CHIMICA Srl that elaborates the

chemical formulations and innovative applications at the service of manufacturers,

craftsmen and professionals, who operate in the production and conservation of

materials used for construction, furniture, and restoration, both civil and monumental.

CRS-GEAL is a scientific-technological department with its own labs, equipped with

advanced instruments and devices, plus testing rooms and outdoor areas, suitable for

any kind of experimentation.

Among CRS-GEAL’s personnel there are chemists and geologists with long specialized

experience, gained in construction sites and in lab.

They create, develop and verify the processes and the chemicals made by BEL CHIMICA Srl.

At CRS-GEAL facility several meetings and educationals are held for professional

workers and technicians operating in industry, restoration and conservation of natural

and artificial materials.

The department also actualise study programmes and stages with the collaboration of

Universities and Research Centres.
