Tertiary Data: Previously published material, data, and ideas. Textbooks, Review articles, Handbooks, Encyclopedias
Types of Research Articles
Letter (or Communication) (1-2 pages)• New research discovery or breakthrough• Usually a single experiment or idea is discussed• Discusses the importance of the results shown

Journal Article (5-20 pages)• Summary of a series of research experiments• Most common peer-review publication• Written within one research group, or with collaborators in different
labs, departments, or universities
