The Chelsea at Fanwood is launching a new program that seeks to address

a demographic that is becoming more common in the assisted living industry--individuals who are at the beginning stages of memory loss, but who remain high-functioning and retain more in-dependence than those with more ad-vanced memory issues. Breezeways is currently under develop-ment at Fanwood and is already being marketed.

“This is a middle-ground between tradi-tional Assisted Living and the more robust memory care in our signature Country Cottage program,” said Edie Empirio, Vice President of Operations for Chelsea Senior Living. “Breezeways is another special-ized living environment that is a stepping stone for those who would benefit from a more structured setting.” Breezeways will be ready for occupancy on April 1, 2018. senior Center reCeives Chelsea Donation

lunCheon attraCts shrewsBury interest

The East Brunswick Senior Center, an extensive complex providing

activities, support and meals for the New Jersey township’s senior citizens, received a donation of $955 from The Chelsea at East Brunswick in February. The funds came from the Chelsea’s “Wreath Stroll”, a holiday event in which local businesses donated gift cards or other goods by attaching them to wreaths, which were then displayed at The Chelsea. Attendees to Chelsea events bid on the wreaths, which is how the funds were generated. BrightStar Care was a co-sponsor of the event and participated in presenting the symbolic check to the Center. East Brunswick Mayor Brad Cohen was on hand to accept the check, along with members of the Friends of the East Brunswick Senior Center and representatives from Chelsea at BrightStar.

A free luncheon attracted about 35 prospects to a presentation on the new Chelsea at Shrewsbury, currently under construction on

Shrewsbury Avenue in Shrewsbury, NJ. Chris Slavicek, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, was the host of the event at McLoone’s Restaurant. He was joined by Concierge Suzanne Monaco and Regional Health Services Director Dawn Shourt. The Chelsea at Shrewsbury promises luxury assisted living in a state-of-the-art residence complete with a bistro, sports club, one and two bedroom apartments and the higher-end Sycamore Suites apartments.

The movie theater at The Chelsea at Toms River has received a premium upgrade, thanks to the family of resident Peter Cantalupo, who passed

away recently. The theater, already outfitted with fabulous theater seating, now has a 100-inch screen, high definition projector and a soundbar. The equipment and installation were donated by Peter’s son Greg, who wanted to give back to the community for the great care his dad received, saying it’s what his dad would have wanted. “Situations like this really stop you in your tracks,” remarked Executive Director Craig Sydor. “Sometimes you just don’t realize the impact you make on a family until they are no longer with you.” The theater is now named the Cantalupo Cinema.
