“Over 30 years of Professional life on a page” – 30 seconds about me… One of the most successful Malaysian born chefs, Vincent Tan has been involved in the culinary scene for over 30 years. This has
taken him to most parts of the world. Presently holding the position of Executive Chef in one of the top resorts in Maldives – The IHG
/ HPL RESORTS, the prodigal son of Malaysian Culinary scene has been residing in oversea for more than 20 years.
Chef Vincent has won a string of “firsts” in his colorful career, among them:-
The first winner for “The Malaysian Most Outstanding Chef Award” - 1993
Prime Minister Golden Hand Award - 1993
Most Outstanding Culinary Team Award Malaysia 1993
Young Chef of the Year Award - 1994
Singapore Mandarin International Group “STAR OF THE YEAR” Award – 1994
“Best Executive Chef” in Ho Chi Minh City in a National fund raising cooking competition for the year 2003.
A former Malaysian National Culinary Team Captain, his other impressive long list of achievements includes winning medals in:
IGEHO Salon Gastronomique, Basel, Switzerland
IKAHOGA, Culinary Olympic, Frankfurt, Germany
Food and Hotel Asia Singapore
His other achievements are leading his culinary team members to become a Champion for two (2) consecutive years in both “The Meat Live Stock
Australia (MLA) Black Box Culinary Challenge Vietnam 2008 & 2009 & “The Champions for World Spice Food Festival 2009 & 2010 in Sri Lanka”
The MLA Black Box Culinary Challenge champions of Viet Nam represented Viet Nam in the Grand Global finals in Tasmania, Australia in May 2012
where his team has won a Silver medal. His team has also won a silver medal in the previous Grand Global Finals in Dubai 2008.
As a celebrity chef, Vincent’s latest achievement is being given the title of The First “Iron Chef” Viet Nam – A popular cooking competition game show
originated from Japan, organized by Viet Nam Television (VTV) & TVPLUS JSC – 2012. The show has been licensed and has been broadcasted
nationwide and in many countries such as, Japan, US, UK, Australia, Canada, Sweden, China, Malaysia & Thailand.
In a Viet Nam culinary scene, Hotel Equatorial Culinary Team emerged as an Overall Champion for the 9th. Consecutive times in a Viet Nam Culinary
Challenge 1997, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2011. (No competition’s organized from 1998-2002, became a biennial meets since 2009)
And at the Maldives Culinary Challenge 2015, Team IHG Holiday Inn Kandooma, Maldives who was led by Vincent has won the The Best
Establishment Award – The Alan palmer Challenge Trophy for a very first time. The resort has amassed a total of 20 medals winning all the categories
entered.

As an Approved Member of “A" Grade Global Jury by the World Association of Chef Society (WACS) Vincent has been judging in many international
culinary competitions and participating in international food promotions.
