Your Installation is Complete!After you’ve continued in Windows XP, 2000, Me, or 98SE, the D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G630 Configuration Utility will automatically start and the utility icon will appear in the bottom right hand corner of the desktop screen (systray). If this icon appears GREEN, then you have successfully installed the DWL-G630, are connected to a wireless network and are ready to communicate!

Double-click the utility icon to use the configuration utility.

If the utility icon does not appear, double-click the shortcut icon that has appeared on your desktop.

AppendixWi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), is a Wi-Fi standard that was designed to improve upon the security features of WEP. The technology is designed to work with existing Wi-Fi products that have been enabled with WEP (i.e., as a software upgrade to exiting hardware), but the technology includes two improvements over WEP:

1) Improved data encryption through Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP)2) User authentication using Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) via a RADIUS server.

Note that WPA is an interm standard that will be replaced with the IEEE’s 802.11i standard upon its completion.

WPA - Wi-Fi Protected Access authorizes and authenticates users onto the wireless network. WPA uses stronger security then WEP and is based on a key that changes automatically at a regular interval. This mode requires a RADIUS server in the network.

WPA-PSK - Pre-Shared Key mode means that the wireless client and the router must have the same passphrase in order to establish the wireless connection. A RADIUS server is not required with this mode.

A. Status: Displays the MAC Address of the Access Point that is associated with the DWL-G630.

B. SSID: The Service Set Identifier is the name assigned to the wireless network. The factory SSID setting is set to default.

C. Frequency: Displays the current frequency used by the current connection to the access point.

E. Encryption: Displays the current encryption status of the wireless connection.

D. Wireless Mode: The factory setting is set to Infrastructure. Ad-Hoc mode is used for peer-to-peer networking.

F. TxRate: The default setting is Auto; meaning, TxRate settings are automatically determined by the DWL-G630 depending on the distance from the access point.

A tecnologia é projetada para trabalhar com os produtos Wi-Fi existentes que foram habilitados com WEP (por ex. como um upgrade de software para o hardware existente), mas a tecnologia inclui dois aprimoramentos em relação ao WEP:1.) Melhor criptografia de dados via Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) 2.) Autenticação do usuário utilizando Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) via RADIUS

Observe que o WPA é um padrão temporário que será substituído pelo padrão IEEE’s 802.11i quando da sua conclusão.

Wi-Fi 保護存取協定（WPA），是一項用於提高WEP安全功能的Wi-Fi標準。該項

技術可與現有的啟用了WEP協定的Wi-Fi產品共同使用（即，如同在現有的硬體設

備上升級軟體），不過相對於WEP，該項技術包含了兩項改進：

1.) 透過Temporal Key Integrity Protocol （TKIP）提高了資料的加密性。

2.) Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) 經由RADIUS伺服器對使用者進行

認證。

注意，WPA是一種臨時標準，最終將會被IEEE802.11i標準所取代。

WPA -
