OBJECTIVE

The objective of this programme is to develop incessant spirit of competition among the Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology students and to provide a forum for interaction and exchange of views among the students of various institutions.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE

The Rayapati Venkata Ranga Rao & Jagarlamudi Chandramouli (RVR&JC) College of Engineering (A), Guntur is a pioneer and well-known for its discipline and dexterity in the field of Engineering Education. It was promoted by a philanthropic group of individuals under Nagarjuna Education Society, Guntur in the year 1985. The promoters of the College have pursued their mission with such a zeal and understanding that the College had over taken the older Colleges quantitatively and qualitatively. Today it is a most sought after institution offering 8 B.Tech. Degree Courses, 6 M.Tech. courses in Engineering, MCA & MBA. It’s credentials are: • The first Engineering College in the state accredited by

NBA for four times in 1998, 2002, 2007 and 2012.

• Only Engineering College in the entire state – Chemical Engineering programme accredited for 5 years in 2012.

• Consistently figured among the top 100 Engineering Colleges in the country.

• Consistently awarded the Best Performing Engineering College in University Examination results for the last consecutive five years.

• Graded as AAA by Careers 360 magazine in May, 2013.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Chemical Engineering was established in the year 1996 and presently offers 4-year B.Tech. programme in Chemical Engineering with 60 intake. The programme is approved by AICTE and Accredited (Five years in 2012) Thrice by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. The Department has the state-of-art equipment necessary for curricular needs. All the laboratories are fully equipped with latest equipment and advanced software packages such as ASPEN plus University Package, etc.

THE EVENTS

Competitions in paper presentation (PP), technical quiz (TQ), group discussion (GD) and elocution (ELOC) will be conducted. All the events are related to Chemical Engineering and allied subject areas only. Of the four events only quiz and paper presentation are the team events and two members in each team are allowed. All the events will be conducted separately and one can participate in any number of events.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Papers are invited from participants on any of the themes related to Chemical and/or allied subject areas. The authors per paper are restricted to two. The authors are requested to send the full paper by email not exceeding eight pages (A4 size, double line spacing and Font size 12).

REGISTRATION FEE

Registration fee is Rs. 200/- for each participant. Participants can also avail spot registration facility.

MODE OF PAYMENT

Bank account details: DD drawn from any nationalised bank in favour of “ Principal, R. V. R. & J. C. College of Engineering (A), Guntur” payable at Guntur, A.P.

IMPORTANT

• One way 2nd class Railway fare by the shortest route will be reimbursed for all the participants.

• Free Hostel accommodation will be provided.

A REQUEST TO THE HEAD OF THE INSTITUTIONS:

The Heads of the Institutions/Departments are requested to short list the participants preferably from third and fourth year B.Tech. and sponsor their names in the prescribed form. Kindly send the duly filled sponsoring form to the Convener on or before 11th August, 2014 to enable us to make necessary arrangements.
