Please join us for an evening of great music featuring a group of about 50 junior high and high school children from Seward, Nebraska. CAMPBELL’S SOUP LABELS FOR EDUCATION PROGRAM IS ENDING…We have until the end of this school year to finish collecting labels and get them sent in before the program is discontinued. If you have any Labels for Education, please cut off the rectangle like the picture to the right, and send it to school with your student. We can use these labels to purchase p.e./recess/classroom supplies for our school!

DAYCARE: I would like to thank all the families that have completed and turned in the parent survey's, we have more copies in daycare if you would like to participate.

BOXTOPS CONTEST: Keep saving and bagging your box tops! We'll end this contest at the end of March! Thanks! Send your box tops with your child in a ziplock bag, 50 per bag please.

AUCTION DATE CHANGE: THE AUCTION WILL BE HELD ON APRIL 30 DUE TO A CONFLICT WITH PROM GYM RESTROOM REMODEL - We are beginning the fundraising process to remodel the School gym

restrooms. We would like to convert the two small restrooms on the South into one large girl’s restroom and the other two on the North to Boys only. The expected cost is $125,000. $7,500 has been given and will be matched by Phillips 66. If you, or a person or business you know could contribute, we would greatly appreciate it. (These are tax-deductible gifts.)

LOST HOODIES AND T-SHIRTS: Please write your students’ name on your school hoodies and t-shirts. Many students have the exact same t-shirt and hoodie, and it impossible to tell whose it is when one is found. We

already have one of the new hoodies in lost and found! If your student is missing theirs, please stop by the office to claim it. Other lost and found items are in the cafeteria, so that the kids can look them over each day when they go to lunch.

TAX STATEMENTS: April 15 is almost here. If you need a statement on payments to the school so that you can finish your taxes, you can print it yourself from FastDirect, or contact the office and we’ll print one for you.

OFFICE WISH LIST: If you have any extra little medicine-measuring cups laying around the house, I could use some for the sick room. Also, if you pay your bills electronically, I use those large white envelopes for the inter-school mail items and would appreciate you donating them to the office. (Note, I would only like the blank ones, not the ones that are pre-addressed to somewhere.) Drop any donations by the office or your classroom. Thanks!

PRINCIPAL - Mr. Birnbaum: Christ Has Risen. That is no joke and we don't have to do anything to receive his gifts and blessings. We praise God for accepting the perfect life of His Son Jesus so we don't have to live perfectly to earn heaven. May the Lord always grant us peace, comfort, and eagerness to do His Will to His Glory. Prayers for a Blessed Easter Season and the remainder of this School year.

PRE-SCHOOL – Mrs. Herard: Welcome back. Hope you all had a blessed Easter weekend! This is going to be another fun week of school as we have our trip to the Wondertorium in Stillwater Friday! We leave at 9 and should be back around 2. Wear red FLS shirts if possible and don't forget a sack lunch! Book orders are due now. Show and Tell will be next Fri. the 8th. Our theme this week is "Transportation" and the letter "T". Don't forget to turn in money for pictures or return picture packet if you do not wish to purchase them. God bless your week!

PRE-KINDERGARTEN - Mrs. Kelly: I hope you enjoyed your Easter! Thank you all who helped with the Easter party and Egg hunt. Spring pictures were in backpacks last Wednesday; payment or pictures are due back to me by Friday, April 1st. Please sign and return your report card envelope to me by Friday. The Box Tops contest ends on Thursday. If you would like to tape Mr. Birnbaum to the gym wall, you can buy duct tape for $1.00 a foot. Our Wondertorium field trip is Friday, We will have Show and Tell next Friday, April 8th. Book orders are due to me or online by Friday, April 8th. PRE-KINDERGARTEN – Mrs. Flaherty: Hope you had a blessed Easter! This week we are working on the letter "Kk" and weather. April book orders are in backpacks along with reading challenge materials. Don't forget Friday we will be going to the Wondertorium and park for lunch. Lunch should be in a throw way container and your child will also need their car seat, if you are not driving them. Bible words Jesus said, "Love one another as I have loved you." John 15:12

KINDERGARTEN – Mrs. Miller: I hope everyone had a great Easter break! I would like to thank all the parents that helped with our party last Thursday. This Friday we have a field trip to the Wondertorium in Stillwater.

We will leave the school at 9:00am. Our time to be at the museum is from 10:00 to 12:00. We will eat lunch at the park (weather permitting) so each child needs to bring a sack lunch in a paper or plastic sack that can be thrown away and bring a drink. If your child is riding with someone please bring their car seat too. We will have show and tell on Friday the 8th because of our field trip. The kindergarten will sing in church on Sunday, April 17th at the 11:00 service so please mark your calendars with this date. Have a great week!

FIRST GRADE – Mrs. Birnbaum: Happy Easter! The Lord is Risen!! Our memory verse for Thursday is the 5th Commandment - You shall not murder. Picture orders - please have any payments and non-purchased pictures returned to me by this Friday. March is the last month for our Book-It reading program. Reading logs for March are due on Friday for your pizza certificate. Friday is our field trip to the Wondertorium. We will leave school by 9:00 and return by 2:00. Bring a sack lunch with a drink for your child. When you leave with your child from the Wondertorium, please make sure that you check out with me. Happy birthday to Tristan on Friday and to Alyssa next Monday!

SECOND GRADE – Mrs. Powell: Christ is Risen! What joy to celebrate Easter! Thank you to Mrs. Shepherd for planning a fun Easter celebration for our class and thanks to the parents who provided special treats. We are happy to welcome Mrs. Elizabeth Patterson to our classroom. She will be teaching in second grade through May 6. We will LOVE sharing our days with her. Remember that our chapter book reports are due tomorrow, March 31. Let me know if you have questions. Several students still need to return report cards and pictures or picture money. Memory for tomorrow is Matthew 28:5-7, The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Blessings!

THIRD GRADE - Mrs. Steichen: He has RISEN!!! Alleluia! I hope everyone had a very blessed Easter. Thank you Alicia and Kalli for reminding us of the Easter story with wonderful Resurrection Rolls. Also, thank you to Christy for helping the class get something together for the Talent Show. Please join us at 6:30 p.m. to see what amazing talent we have here at First Lutheran. This week: Memory: 1 Peter 1:3 – Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Test this week: Math, Language, and Reading. As we get closer to ITBS please make sure you do the packet pages when assigned, this practice will help your child when it come to the test. If you have any questions about these test please let me know. Duct Tape Challenge – please bring your money to tape Mr. Birnbaum to the gym wall, turn in money to me and I will keep track.

FOURTH GRADE - Mrs. Sibley: I hope you had a great weekend praising God as Jesus was not able to be kept by the chains of death in the grave for our sins. We are back into the swing of things after a four day weekend. We have also received our eggs that we will be hatching. The kids are really excited. We have great acts for the Talent Show on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. Some are leading the last quarter off ready on the right foot; while others are having a having a bit of trouble getting going. Book orders will be going home soon. Let the office know if you are having trouble logging into Fast Direct to see student grades. We are already working on earning our AR goals for fourth quarter. Fourth quarter goal is to see a movie at the Poncan Theater. I have seen many diligent students reading during every spare moment they have. Please continue to look at planners nightly, ask the kids what we did in school, and their assignments. We are earning cardinal dollars for this! We are working on becoming fifth graders!

FIFTH GRADE - Mrs. Schatte: Happy Easter! Christ is risen; He is risen indeed! Hallelujah! I hope you all had a blessed Easter. Tests this week include(d) social studies on Tuesday and spelling and reading on Friday. How is your child doing on preparing for the oral state report? I hope he/she is working diligently. These reports will require practice. The children are also reading the book Night of the Howling Dogs. A book report is assigned for language class pertaining to this book. The rough draft is due May 6, and the final copy is due May 13. This is a very specific book report; the guidelines for it start on page 179 of the language book. Memory due Thursday is Proverbs 3:5 and 1 Corinthians 13:13. Blessings!

8TH GRADE GIRLS! Po-Hi Drill Team tryouts are at TONIGHT! at 4:00 pm; Good luck girls! MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE: Mark your calendars. The spring dance will be Friday, April 15, 6:30 – 9:00 GRADUATION PICTURES: 8TH Grade Graduation pictures will be taken Friday, April 8th. Pose and

background preference forms have been handed out; if you didn’t receive yours, please ask your 8th grader about it. The office has a few extras if yours cannot be found. Send no money now; money will be collected at a later time.

VOCAL CLUB: Come to our vocal club! We meet every Wednesday after school until 4:30 p.m. Anyone (boys or girls) in middle school who wants to join is welcome; please notify Kylie Mayer.

MIDDLE SCHOOL: Your teacher has information on the radio contest sponsored by Team Radio. This is a chance for you to write a Public Service Announcement and present it on the radio.

Mrs. Goll: Happy Easter! Is there a better message than “I know that my Redeemer lives”? I pray that your Easter was as joyous as mine! We continue on with our math studies. Time will go very quickly between now and the end of May with many activities. It’s an important time for students to use their class time wisely so that they do not feel overwhelmed with all the activities.

Mrs. Harbeson: Happy Easter! What a wonderful time of the year! I hope you all were able to enjoy the four-day weekend with worship, family, and friends. I'd also like to thank everyone for making me feel so special on my birthday last Thursday. Thank you to my 6th graders for the beautiful arrangement and cupcakes (they were yummy!) and to everyone who wished me a happy birthday and gave me gifts. I'm so blessed to be working at a school with such awesome parents and students. I love you all! We certainly have a lot going on at school right now. The talent show is set for this Friday, track is going full-force, and our eighth graders are finishing their final weeks at FLS and beginning to prepare for high school next year. Please keep up with your assignments in all the activities that are going on. Don't let classwork, tests, quizzes, and reading get lost in the shuffle! I pray that you all have a great week!

Mrs. Hanson: Report cards and spring pictures have gone home, however, they need to be returned/paid for by the end of the week.

7th grade is getting ready for the auction; we will be making a "money tree". Every 7th grader needs to bring a $20 gift card or $20 cash by April 11.

We have scheduled extra musical practice for actors, after school on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30. We really need this time to practice or make props.

All classes will have a vocabulary quiz this Friday. Mr. Covert: Christ is risen! I hope everybody had a good Easter break as we celebrated the rising of our

Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and I hope that everyone is back and ready to finish out the school year strong! This week, 8th grade is looking at some of the leaders of the Progressive movement in the early 1900s, such

as Theodore Roosevelt. 7th grade is still working on Asia, as we look at the history of the region and the way it is today. In 6th grade, we’re looking at the Feudal Age, and how Europe transitioned from the Medieval Age into the modern era.

7th grade parents, the DC trip meeting is still scheduled for April 5th at 6:00 PM in my classroom. If you cannot attend, let me know so I can get the information to you! I hope to see all of you there!

I pray that God blesses us all as we wrap up Lent and start the Easter season!

you can help! The best way to make sure that we have pictures of your child

in the yearbook, is to submit your pictures! Replay It is a free app from

Jostens that is used to share photos to the yearbook staff. We have an

account set up, and once you download the app and link it to our school, you

will be able to upload pictures right then and there; it is incredibly easy to

use. NO more saving the photos to a flash drive, tracking someone down to

give it to, and worrying about getting it back. The pictures only take

seconds to upload and share with everyone. If you forget your camera at a

school event, you may go out and look at all the photos submitted by other

school families. So please download the app today and start sharing your
