Chattanooga Area Alumnae Chapter ● Volume 4, Issue 1 ● Kappa Alpha Theta ● www.ChattaTheta.com
Beth Wallace is currently serving as Chapter Secretary. After growing up in Chattanooga and attending GPS, she was initiated into Theta at Wofford University. During that time she says that her favorite Theta memories are of hanging out with her Big Sis and Little Sis. “We always had so much fun together!” Beth recently returned to Chattanooga, and currently works as a pediatric speech pathologist at TC Thompson. In this role she helps young children improve their speech and language so that they can communicate. In her free time she enjoys walking on the Walnut Street Bridge and eating at Taco Mamacita’s. This is Beth’s first year to serve as a chapter officer. She states that “it would be great to have alumnae from all different walks of life take an active role in the chapter. Even just participating in or volunteering for one event each year can make a huge difference in contributing to the whole chapter.” Her favorite past activities have included the wine tasting and dinners at local restaurants. As for this year, she once again looks forward to the wine tasting “and watching Tiffany H. sell everything at the garage sale!”

Alumna’s Daughter Paints, Gifts Crest
Whitney Blocker Mashburn is a local artist, and the daughter of chapter member Ellen Blocker. To honor her mother, and her mother’s love and devotion to Theta, Whitney offered to paint the crest of Kappa Alpha Theta and gift it to our chapter. The gift was unveiled at Founders Day, and was utilized during our initiation review portion of the event. “Having the crest present just made the entire ritual portion of our Founders Day even more special” said chapter member Tiffany Potter. “What a beautiful memento that we will always have.” A true heartfelt thanks to Whitney for this beautiful gift.
