Question 1:

I think the biggest challenge for me was trying to secure a scholarship for my

undergraduate degree at university. I managed to obtain one through the

‘Somji Trust Foundation’ by trying to market my self and my ambitions and I

have succeeded in proving to them my potential and academic capabilities. I

am proud of the fact that I graduated on time with a solid GPA.

The second challenge was preparing an advertising campaign for a ‘new soap’

In the market in partial fulfillment of the course-Marketing communication

and buyer behavior. The challenge was that the poster we had designed for the

campaign was not available when we were called to present. So I took

responsibility and decided to start with a brief introduction as we had the

power point ready. Soon after I finished the poster was put up for the class

to view a graphical portrayal of what we had been talking about.

The third challenge was dealing with “difficult” customers when I was set on

a sales mission by Careena’s boutique to sell designer jackets with hoods

usually worn during the cold climate. The challenge was that I was selling

them during summer as the owner was trying to get rid of old stock. This

involved going to each neighborhood and convincing people to buy something

warm instead of summer wear. I came across irate customers whereby I tried

to talk in a calm and relaxed manner trying to be as empathetic and

persuasive as possible. I eventually managed to sell 5 out of 9 jackets.

Question 2

My strengths are interpersonal skills, and I can usually win people over to my

point of view. Also, I have good judgment about people and an intuitive sense

of their talents and their ability to contribute to a given problem. I have

utilized these strengths in not only my personal life but also university life for

e.g. in group work, class presentations, managing organization of events etc.

I am very self motivated, determined and honest. I really love whatever I do

and I try to surround myself with people who share similar passions. I thrive

on this type of environment.

Question 3:

I have never been good with accounting or math. I have tried to overcome this

weakness by changing my attitude toward the subject and acquiring tuitions

(at one time) from my professor at university.

I have a tendency to take on too much on my own. I am working on this by

delegating more.

Question 4:

During my internship at Kishore Nanji & Advocates I suggested they have a

more efficient filling system, because it seemed all paper work, inquiries,

cases etc were distributed haphazardly so I decided to set up a system

grouping inquiries according to the branch of law it fell under.

Although I have not been employed in the past nor do I hold any employment

currently, I managed to assist my sister who has a car hiring business by

advertising for her through facebook i.e. creating a page for the company and

through word of mouth which is the most effective form of marketing.

Question 5:

I may have little experience but I possess strong potential to learn and grow if

given an opportunity to work at Chase Bank.

I have excellent research and team work skills with a strong work ethic and

able to fulfill numerous Marketing related roles and tasks. I am a hard

working, self motivated, creative, highly organized and an assertive lady

endowed with other attractive qualities like critical thinking, organizational

and problem solving skills.

I believe that my combination of education, motivation to excel and ability

will make me a valuable asset to your organization.
