The invention and use of false eyelashes began in 1916 when director D.W. Griffith was making

How long will my extensions last? Your hair extensions will last for about 6 to 8 weeks before

How often should I brush my extensions? Three times a day is recommended, and make sure
to be gentle, starting from the tips and working up, always holding the roots with your other
hand. This will prevent your hair from matting and tangling. You can use a special brush made

How do I wash my hair extensions? Hair extensions need gentle cleansing. Try to use a
sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. Sulfates are too harsh for extensions and can leave them
stripped of moisture and shine. After shampooing, use a great moisturizing conditioner on your
hair. Apply the conditioner to your extensions from the mid-section to the end, avoiding the
roots. You can also use a leave-in conditioner to add an extra dose of hydration.

Face Mask
Mash half banana in a bowl until smooth, then mix in 2 tbsp honey and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon then apply
the mask to your washed face and leave it on for 30 minutes. Wash off with warm water, cleanse
thoroughly with a gentle cleanser.
Foot Cream
Combine 1/2 cup ground almonds, 1/2 cup dry, raw oatmeal - not quick-cook or flavored, 4 tbsp cocoa
butter and 3 tbsp honey. Apply this mixture to your feet and cover with socks. Leave on overnight,
remove socks and rinse with warm water in the morning
Hair Mask
Combine 1 egg yolk, 1 Tablespoon mayonnaise, ¼ avocado, 2 Tablespoons olive oil and a small handful
of conditioner. Mix all of the ingredients together, and then apply the mixture to your hair. Leave on
your hair for 1-2 hours. Wash it out for soft, shiny, and strong hair.
Hand Treatment
Mix 2 tbsp fine sugar, 1 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp full-fat cream. Massage the mask into hands,
paying close attention to the cuticles. Put on gloves and let the mask set for 15 minutes. Rinse off with
warm water.
Body Moisturizer
Combine 2 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil, 1 tbsp honey, 2 drops of vanilla or other essential oil. Apply all
over body, leaving it on for 20 minutes. Rinse in a warm shower.

Dr. Kelly Nelson from the Duke University Melanoma Center countered the lobbyists’ statements by saying that doctors have noticed an increase in melanoma in teens and young women due to the frequent use of tanning beds.
The recent legislation is supported by the Child Fatality Task Force, the American Cancer Society, the North Carolina Dermatology Association, NC Oncology Society, the North Carolina Pediatrics Society and the North Carolina Medical Society.

In Europe, there are 1,373 chemicals banned from cosmetics. In the United States, there are 8. Formaldehyde, known to cause cancer in humans, can be found in nail polish, hair gel, shampoos, and lotions.
Triclosan, which disrupts the body's natural hormone system, can be found in soaps, deodorants, and toothpaste. Parabens, found in breast cancer tumors, can be found in many lotions and ointments.
In the USA, there are no laws that require cosmetic companies to demonstrate the safety of their products.

The concern with Stearalkonium chloride is that studies have shown this chemical to be "moderately

How long does it last? Your sunless tan will last approximately 7-10 days (depending on skin type and care) and will

The North Charleston Arts Festival is an annual nine-day event highlighting national, regional, and local
artists and performers in the areas of dance, theater, music, film media, and visual & literary arts. The
event, now in its 30th year, draws over 30,000 residents and visitors annually. The Main Event, held the
first weekend in May at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center and Charleston Area Convention

What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are a safe way to extend the length and thickness of your eyelashes, not like
“false eyelashes” that can be applied at home. They are applied on a hair-by-hair basis directly to
your own lashes for a totally natural look and feel.
How long will eyelash extensions last?
When properly applied and cared for, your eyelash extensions can last up to two months or more
(the length of the natural growth cycle of each natural eyelash hair). The extensions adhere to the
individual eyelash (not the lashbed) and do not fall off themselves.
We naturally lose 3 to 5 eyelashes per day and new ones grow in. When your natural lash falls
out, the extension falls out with it. After your initial starter set, touch-ups (fills) are
recommended approximately every four weeks to replace any lashes that might have fallen off.
What kind of lash extensions are offered?
We offer two types of eyelash extensions in the Austin area: NovaLash® and mink extensions.
NovaLash® is owned and operated by a team of physicians, scientists, and cosmetic chemists

Another alternative are mink eyelash extensions. Mink lashes are a safe, soft, high-gloss
synthetic material created to closely resemble real mink hair. They are curled, tapered, and
lighter and more flexible than conventional synthetic lashes. Mink lashes are gentle on the
natural lash, while holding their shape. These lashes are ideal for people with sensitive eyes or
thin lashes.
How do I care for my lash extensions?
Care should be taken not to rub or scratch eyes. Also, any creams, eye makeup removers, lotions,
or cleansers containing glycols or carbonates can loosen the bond of the extensions. Eye cream
should be used only sparingly with avoidance of the lash line area. Water soluble mascara can
be worn, however, constant use of mascara may shorten the life-span of your lashes. Waterproof
mascara is not recommended as it will dissolve the bond with the lashes.
What if I decide I no longer want extensions?
If you choose not to keep up with your extensions by having the monthly fills, the lashes with
extensions on them will eventually all shed and you will return to having all-natural lashes in a
few months. The eyelash extensions have no effect on your lashbed follicles and will not inhibit
future lash growth.

Round Rock salon, your extensions should stay silky, healthy and beautiful in the weeks
following your appointment.
TIPS FOR WASHING: • If possible, shampoo hair extensions every other day instead of shampooing daily.
• Before showering, gently and carefully remove tangles using a wide tooth comb. Hold your
hair in one hand, and begin combing at the ends first. Gently work your way up the length of
your hair while brushing or combing in a downward motion.
• Use a mild, gentle shampoo for washing your hair. Avoid using vigorous rubbing or
scrubbing motions. When conditioning, avoid the scalp area and just condition the hair rather
than the scalp. When rinsing, be sure that all the shampoo and conditioner residues are washed
out.
• Hair extensions need extra moisture since they are not receiving nutrients from the scalp like
your live hair. A daily leave in conditioner is a great way to add extra moisture. You can apply
the leave in conditioner can be applied after shampooing, paying special attention to the ends.
DRYING: • Use a soft towel or T-shirt type material to gently towel dry your extensions after
showering. Avoid scrubbing, twisting or squeezing your hair in the towel.
• If possible, let your hair extensions air dry instead of using a blow dryer. If you need to use a
blow dryer, then choose the coolest setting possible. Hold the dryer so that the stream of air is
directed in a downward pattern from the top of your head. This will keep the extensions from
tangling as you blow dry them.
STYLING: • If you use hair spray or other styling products, try to avoid those containing alcohol. (Alcohol
can be very drying to the hair.) Limit styling products such as hair sprays, mousse and gel if
possible as they can make the hair dry and can cause tangling. Styling products can also create
build up on the hair and it is recommended that a deep cleansing or chelating shampoo be used
once or twice a month to remove build-up and residue.
• Heat styling, when used to often, can cause extensions to become dry and damaged. Limit
the use of blow dryers, flat irons and curling irons as well as heat rollers. If you want to curl
your hair, try steam rollers instead of curling irons. Choose ionic ceramic heat styling tools
which will be less damaging than other metals, and always use the lowest setting possible that
will give you the effect that you want.
AT NIGHT: • At night when you turn in to bed, take a few extra steps to make sure that your extensions do
not become tangled when you turn in your sleep. Depending upon your preference, you can
loosely braid your extensions or you can pull your hair into a soft scrunchie so that it will stay
tangle free until morning. You can also wrap your hair with a satin scarf or use a satin sleep cap
or a satin pillow case to prevent friction. You should avoid going to bed with damp or wet hair.
