September 2006 – August 2015 GIS Analyst – Polk County BoCC, Bartow, FL

Responsible for maintaining several Countywide GIS Programs (including GIS applications and providing GIS training) and ArcSDE Administration. Assisted in conducting need assessments with other County Divisions and staff such as Polk County Property Appraiser, Polk County Elections and County and City Planning Divisions. Participated in the implementation of GIS software instillation, utilization of GIS software, and applications. Analyzes spatial and attribute data using various GIS software, displays data through the use of maps, reports, charts and tables using plotters and printers. Create a variety of maps, conduct detail GIS analysis, and write custom scripts whenever needed. Manages multi-faceted GIS projects both independently and as a member of a team(s). Customize application software to provide GIS capabilities to agency personnel through easy to use, Windows-based interfaces to maximize their productivity. Prepares technical presentations using the GIS interface and using graphics software to view and present images. Responsible for producing GIS map products, conducting GIS analysis, creating and updating SDE geodatabases, and producing posters and graphic products in support of EPA’s Hurricane Katrina Response Project.

January 2006 - March 31, 2006 Research Assistant/GIS Analyst – Colorado State University, assigned at Fort Sill Military Base, Lawton, OK.

Responsible for managing and analyzing geographical information, and for developing and maintaining the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases. Also responsible for all GIS projects and products in support of preserving the environment at the Fort Sill Military Base.

January 2003 -June 30, 2005 GIMS Specialist II / Geologist – Ohio Geological Survey.

Responsible for the mapping of abandoned-underground mines in Ohio; including creating and maintaining both personal and multi- user geodatabases running in ArcSDE on a SQL server. Additionally responsible for the supervising of interns, technical paper and report writing; presenting papers and talks at professional conferences.

May 2001- January 2003 GIS Specialist - System Resource Management --- assigned at the Rhode Island Water Resources Board (RIWRB).

Responsible for all GIS related issues and projects. Additionally responsible for recreating the water supply districts, water transmission/distribution lines and pumping points GIS coverages within the RIGIS data bank. Other tasks included creating maps and performing analyses for state policy documents and planning purposes, writing technical briefs for RIWRB committee meetings, assisting in grant application writings and proposals, and supervising interns assigned to the board.
