Chaplains Comments Chaplain of Nazareth Council #4021
Dear Brother Knight, Worldwide, Knights of Columbus do significant good. In Columbia magazine we read of projects that help peo-ple, parishes and communities throughout the U.S. The organization to which you and I belong can and does make a positive impact for people right around us here. I visited recently with your pastor in person or by phone. My brother priests gave me confidence that our council could attract younger men--many with families--to join us. There are many benefits available to them, as you know. And we can give them Christian opportunities to join in the charitable works of Council 4021. I heard discussion at our last council meeting that tells me the time is ripe for recruiting new members from our several parishes. Let’s expand the brotherly circle of the Knights of Columbus! God bless you and your family. Father Frank Fried, Chaplain: [email protected] 651-698-8333

Greetings Brother Knights
As I write this, the State Fair is only a few weeks away. If you are a Pronto Pup or Cheese Curd junkie, I hope you, along with all of your
Minnesota close friends, are able to enjoy the Great Minnesota Get Together this year.
It was nice to officially welcome Don Ethen back after a hiatus; his
personal reflection regarding the power of the Knights of Colum-
bus further supports why we are here. In this issue of Nazareth
News you will find an article to kick off KC4021 Rideshare. It is an
invitation to attend some of our monthly meetings with an offer
to provide a ride for those who may need some assistance; Give
Don Ethen a call at 651-233-6776 or Tom O’Dea at 651-483-
1775 to arrange for a ride.

Our Worthy Chaplain, Father Fried, has successfully reached out
to the parishes associated with KC4021. All priests are eager to
work with us to further the Knights of Columbus Mission and
help us grow our membership. Look for more information in
future newsletters as to how you can help.
Enjoy the balance of Summer. Vivat Jesus Tom Pepin
Prayer for the Canonization of
Father Michael J. McGivney
God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the
widow and orphan, you called your priest, Father Michael J.
McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead
the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through
the example of his life and virtue may we follow your Son,
Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of
charity and building up his Body which is the Church.
Let the inspiration of
your servant prompt us to greater
confidence in your love so that
we may continue his work of car-
ing for the needy and the outcast.
We humbly ask that you glorify
your venerable servant Father
Michael J. McGivney on earth ac-
cording to the design of your holy
will. Through his intercession,
grant the favor I now present
(here make your request).
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.)
Time for the 2016 Marathon! One of Nazareth Councils largest events.
Saturday, October 1, 2016 It soon will be time for another Marathon. We would like to thank all the Knights who have given of their time to make the Marathon a success year after year. Mark your calendar; Satur-day, October 1 is the date of the 2016 Marathon. The arrange-ments for food, equipment, and the park rental have been made but we still need help from our Brother Knights to make this a success again this year. We especially need help with di-recting the bikers and walkers on the course. We also need help, with set up before and clean up after, on the day of the Marathon. Whatever your ability and availability we have something that you can assist us with. There will be a sign up sheet at the council meetings or you call or e-mail Sean to sign up.
