Background:

Coming from a wealthy background but disagreeing with

her parents political rules Ameera often disguised herself

and wondered the colourful streets seeking adventure.

She saw a young woman in trouble and instead took her

place knowing the authorities would release her,

however during her good deed she was Wrongly blamed

for dishonouring the Goddess Kali,. Ameera was then

cursed and turned into the half scorpion.; after hiding

herself away and starting to succumb to the darkness, she

saw the light after her younger brother was kidnapped

and yet to be found. Ameera now uses her curse to her

advantage and can keep it under control with the help

of scorpion venom to creep in on criminals and child

traffickers undetected, to abolish their schemes or even

put them to sleep permanently with the poison in her

scorpion tail.

As I wanted my

character to be

Asian and beautiful, I

looked at Asian

brides to also

examine the patterns

and ‘womanly’

aspects like henna

and jewellery.

Some scorpions

inspired me to

make the venom

transformation

liquid a bright

purple colour.

The Goddess of Kali

– Kali meaning ‘time’

and ‘death’ is

commonly depicted

as a violent

goddess responsible

for death. This also

gave me the

influence to give my

character (in

scorpion form)

multiple limbs.
