THE REGIONAL STRUCTURE During the mid-1980s, the Alumnae Association began to develop a regional structure that would provide better support in the field for strengthening and supporting clubs; connecting alumnae clubs with each other and with Wellesley; expanding volunteer support for admission recruitment; exploring networking and career support programs for alumnae; and integrating all the major areas of Wellesley alumnae field activity. To those ends, a national structure was organized, creating ten regions. In 1998, an eleventh region was added to the Regional Program to represent all areas outside the United States. REGIONAL FORUMS During the last ten years, the Alumnae Association has sponsored at least one, if not two, regional Forums per year. Objectives for these programs were to strengthen awareness of the Association, strengthen connections locally among alumnae, and provide lifelong educational opportunities for alumnae. However, the WCAA will not sponsor a regional Forum in 2004-05 and will spend this year re-evaluating this program and its objectives. In order to group our clubs, the overall regional structure will remain in place.
