4.5. USING NOUNS AS ADJECTIVES

Sometimes words that are usually used as nounsare used as adjectives. For example, flower isusually a noun, but in (a) it is used as an adjectiveto modify garden. When a noun is used an adjec-tive, it is singular in form, NOT plural.

* An irregular plural noun is a plural noun that does not end in -s: children, men, people, women.
