Multiplying Integers
Study the examples below and see if you spot any patterns. Can you figure out the rules for multiplying and dividing integers?
2 × 3 = 6 4 × 5 = 20
2 × (-3) = -6 4 × (-5) = -20
-2 × 3 = -6 -4 × 5 = -20
-2 × (-3) = 6 -4 × (-5) = 20

Multiplying Integers
The product of two integers with the same sign is positive.
2 × 3 = 6 (-2) × (-3) = 6
The product of two integers with different signs is negative.
2 × (-3) = -6 -2 × 3 = -6
