The Importance of Business Support Systems
Support systems are crucial in ensuring creation, development, growth and sustainability of SMEs.
Support systems can be provided through entrepreneurship ecosystems such as market, human capital, financial resources, policies, professional services, support infrastructure, etc. (Isenberg, 2010).
Support systems primarily determined by the national agenda laid down by the government.
National SME Development Council (NSDC) chaired by the Prime Minister was formed back in 2006 to strengthen support for SME development and growth. This was followed by formation of the Special Taskforce to Facilitate Business or PEMUDAH.
