Inguinal Hernia: A separation of tissue that allows part of the intestine to push into the abdominal wall near the top of the testicles. Straining the abdominal muscles or lifting heavy objects can cause a tear. Symptoms include a lump in the groin near the thigh, pain in the groin, partial or complete blockage of the intestine. Surgery is usually necessary.

Sterility: inability to reproduce. May result from few sperm or sperm of poor quality. Sterility may result from environment hazards, x rays, toxic chemicals, anabolic steroids, and some STD’s.

Testicular cancer: Often occurs between the ages of 14-40. A monthly self-exam is recommended.

Possible warning signs include: painless lump or swelling in one or both testicles, pain or discomfort in testicles. Early detection is treatable through surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy.

Prostate problems/cancer: can become enlarged as a result of infection, a tumor, or age related problems. Enlarged prostate presses against the urethra, resulting in frequent or difficult urination. Prostate cancer screening is usually done for men when they reach 50.
