• The first line of defense is to be prepared for peer pressure
• Choose friends that are tobacco free
• Stay away from friends when they are smoking

How Tobacco Effects the NON Smoker
• Second hand Smoke – Air that has been contaminated by smokers smoke
• Side stream Smoke – Smoke that comes from the burning tip of tobacco – It contains twice as much tar and nicotine
• Mainstream smoke – Smoke that cthe smoker exhales
• Long term exposure to second hand smoke poses that same risk of serious illness for passive smokers as smoking does for active smoker
