Ans. We start our work according to our work priority, sometime depends on mood.

INTRODUCTION

Once a King wanted to know the right answers of his three questions. a. What is the right time to begin a thing? b. Which people should he consult for guidance? c. What is the most important thing for him to do? Many wise men tried their tuck one said that the king should prepare a timetable and follow it rigidly another said it was impossible to fix the right time in advance. In answer to the second question, they gave importance to minister, priest, doctor or soldiers to the third question, they replied that science, fighting and religions! worship were the most important things. The ring was not satisfied, so he did not reward to anyone, finally the king decided to seek the advice of a hermit who lived alone in the forest. The hermit known for his wisdom did not go out of the forest, secondly, he met only common people. Therefore,- the king went to him in plain clothes and on foot. king had put his brother to death and taken away all his property. His intention was to

b. Why did he ask for the king’s forgiveness?

Ans. b. The bearded man felt very grateful to the king who had saved his life. His attitude

was changed altogether. He begged he king to forgive him and take him in his service.

Ans. The king was glad to make peace with his enemy. He not only forgave him but also promised to

send a doctor to look after him and return the properly to him.

Ques.2 Imagine you are the king. Narrate the incident of your meeting the hermit. Begin like

this.

Ans. The wise men answer my question, but I was not satisfied with their answers. One day I

decided to go and meet the hermit who lived in the forest, I was in a common man’s clothes.

And I left my horse as well as body uard at some distance from the hut. I went to see the hermit

done and on foot. I found the wise man digging the ground in front of his hut. He was old weak.

He looked tired. He was breathing heavily. I went up to meet him and put to him my three

said the hermit at moment is the most important person, to do that man good is one’s most

Ans.One day I was digging in my garden. A man in ordinary clothes comes to see me. I knew he

Ans. The king was very kind as he did not knew about his enemy and he saved him after

INTRODUCTION

Mirdu is a young girl growing up in Madras (now called Chennai) with Tapi, her grandmother and Thatha, her grandfather. of Egypt. Later on when the music teacher comes but to leave he finds his chappals missing. On

them and leaves calling the thought of Gopu Mama as he was he comes home. She says what

Mama going to say when she would tell him that she has given her chappals to the music

teacher.

CHAPTER - 3 GOPATJ AND THE HILSA – FISH

INTRODUCTION

This is the comic picture story of an intelligent court Gopal and hilsa — fish. In the hilsa fish

season, everyone is in the market at neighborhood, and even in the king’s court speaks

about the hilsa — fish. The king gets angry at it and challenge Gopal, to buy a hilsa and to lring

it in the court without letting anybody on the way talk or ask about it from him. Gopal accepts

the challenge. A few days later, he leaves his face half - shaved, ash on his face and wearing

rags and buys a hilsa. Everyone who sees him takes about his clothes and funny appearance. He

INTRODUCTION

The Old farmer was a kind person. Having no children he mode a little Dog named muko his

baby. The couple used to feed him with tidbits of fish from their own chopsticks and all the

boiled rice he wanted. They treated him nicely. The farmer was patient and kind to

everything that had life and often turned up sad on purpose to give foodto the birds. One day

the dog took the old man to a place and began scratching it. The old man thought

there might be a buried bone or bit of fish, thus struck his hoe in the earth and found the

hidden gold and they become rich. The neighbour on hearing the good luck bought to the

couple by the dog coaxed the dog and took it to the field. The dog scratched and pawed

the ground under a pine tree. When on digging the ground, the neighbours did not get gold.

In anger killed the dog and flung him into the hole.

That night the sprite, of the dog appeared to the farmer in a dream and asked him to cut down

the pine tree. Over his grave and make, a mortar for rice pastry and a mill for bean source from

it. Once again the spirit of the dog spoke to the farmers and told him how the wicked

neighbours had burnt the mill made from the pine tree he asked him to take the

ashes of the mill, to sprinkle them on the withered trees, and that they would bloom again. The

farmer had the magical ashes, which on sprinkling on the withered cherry tree bloomed it. On

seeing the act, the daimio became very happy and rewarded the farmer. However, his

neighbour did not have magic in the ashes. He was having in order to get reward the sprinkled,

the ashes an a withered cherry tree but the ashes went into the eyes and nose of the daimio

and his wife and resulted in sneezing and therefore the daimio got angry and punished the

neighbour for his act.
