Washburn Tech, a technical college affiliated with Washburn University, operates its main campus at 5724 SW Huntoon St. WHO CAN ATTEND? Adults as well as high school students are welcome. WHEN DO CLASSES BEGIN? Washburn Tech East is now open. Learn more about course schedules by contacting a recruiter. LOOKING FOR A CAREER? This facility offers the following programs: Building Technology, Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Home Health Aide, Commercial Truck Driving (CDL), GED and ESL classes. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? All career pathways are included in the Accelerating Opportunity: Kansas program (AO-K) which is for students who are receiving both their GED and technical training. Costs are greatly reduced for AO-K participants. For students who already have their high school diplo- ma, financial assistance is available. HOW DO I ENROLL? If you are considering the AO-K program, call Mandy Cox at 785.670.2601. If you already have your high school diploma or GED, learn more about your options by calling Washburn Tech at 785.670.3380. You are required to pay an enrollment/material fee and meet the minimum score on the Accuplacer test. Other assessments can be accepted in place of this exam. Talk to a recruiter for details.
