SAFEHOUSE MINISTRY

SafeHouse Ministry is entering it's 19th year assisting individuals in Elbert County and our six surrounding counties. This short-term emergency shelter assists women and children who find themselves homeless due to domestic violence, homelessness and/or natural disaster. Along with shelter ministry we also assist folks with food on a daily basis from our food bank and also furniture if people are in need due to a house fire or just sim-ply leaving a domestic situation and cannot return home. SafeHouse is a faith-based ministry that depends on grants, and financial gifts from individuals, churches, civic groups, etc. The number of individuals serviced for the first half of 2014 totals over 3,000. This is all made possible through the prayers and support of faithful individuals. SafeHouse is asking if you or your company will select them as one of the agencies that you sup-port.

SALVATION ARMY

GRANITE CITY FALL FESTIVAL

The Granite City Fall Festival was a success in spite of the cold weather that moved in for the weekend. Thanks to the many that came out to support the ven-dors. There were approximately 2000 in attendance. One event that draws a crowd each year is the giving away of the granite pumpkin donated by Clint But-ton. This year’s winner was Ashley Williams. Congratulations to Ashley!
