All this will increase the prestige of Bulgaria as a medical tourism destination and as a global factor in the healthcare industry.

State of the art facilities, world-renowned experts and excellent climate conditions for rehabilitation will attract patients from around the world. This will inevitably boost the economy of the country and the region as a whole.

The Bulgarian doctors will share their expertise with their colleagues through remote video-based surgeries.

Vision of the Future

The next logical step in the development of this cluster will be to introducebiogenetically developed prostheses that will mimicry the sensitivity and abilities of real limbs and organs.

To achieve this goal the cluster should focus its endeavors on the close cooperation between its R&D, IT and medical units rather than on one particular department.

If it manages to foster such clusters of companies, Bulgaria could spark the region’s transformation into a global medical hub at the crossroads of East and West.
